Looking solid, maybe a little extra tricep work like JM Press or skullcrusher variation. Maybe some 1 or 2 board work too, those have all helped me a bit too. I love the Spoto press too for that.
@GarageGymLifeMedia7 күн бұрын
I definitely think tricep work is the key here. I might actually start doing some or two board work since I’ve got the stuff here to do it.

Something to do with triceps' endurance? You have the exact opposite of my issue (weak off the chest.) That and you bench a great deal more than me. Great work John!
@GarageGymLifeMedia7 күн бұрын
That's definitely one of the problem areas I see! I've always been strongest in the chest, followed by triceps then front delts. I've been doing a ton of front delt work and as you can see, my sticking point is now in my triceps. So I'm going to be adding floor presses and partials in the power rack to help with that. Nice job!

Awesome review! I bought one earlier today from a person that was selling on Facebook marketplace. I got it for $300 and it was hardly used. It also came with a bench, 45lb bar and some awesome plates in total or 300lbs. I scored for sure and my kids plays football and soccer so no need to drive them to the gym and we will have plenty of years with this rack. The only thing it didn’t come with is the safety bars to use for squats. Which safety bars do you recommend?
@GarageGymLifeMedia7 күн бұрын
I believe that’s a 2x2 rack so you can grab the Yes 4All spotter arms from Amazon. They should work with that.
@DeadliftDarrell8 күн бұрын
I suggest wiping off oily residue right away, I wound up with oil residue on my hands while handling weights and then it gets on the bars. This is the first set of bumper weights I've purchased. I wound up on this page after googling, "how to clean oily residue off of new bumper plates,."
@GarageGymLifeMedia8 күн бұрын
Man Darrell I agree! I don’t like slippery plates! I can just see it dropping on my foot when I’m unloading the bar! Also, thank you for letting me know how you found the video! That helps a lot more than you would think!

I'm not in the market to add a new rack to my home gym but I appreciate this review. I admit I really like nice J-cups and these, no words. I understand that everyone has a different budget or what they are willing to spend on their home gym and these lighter racks will work for some people. I'll use myself as an example, I have an incline bench from Dick's that I purchased during Covid when I built my home gym. I intended to upgrade it to a Rep incline bench but after three years my bench is still holding up great and shelling out several hundred dollars just to have a more respectable-looking bench in my videos is not worth it for me as the most I incline bench is 225 and the Dicks bench holds me and the weight just fine. My point is that although I am squeamish about this rack, I can see how someone can get just as jacked with this rack.

Oh yeah Alex! I mean, if you check out the rickety looking equipment they were using in Pumping Iron it’s obvious that you can achieve a lot with worse.
@AlexLifts197110 күн бұрын
@@GarageGymLifeMedia Funny you mention pumping iron as I saw your video from bare steel as I was binging your videos last week and saw the unboxing of those old-school pumping iron replica handles. I ordered them. They got delivered today and are home waiting for me. I'll be trying them at my commercial gym on Wednesday. I don't have a low row in my garage gym so I got them to try out at the commercial gym. I guess you could say I'm a hybrid as I train at both gyms.

I keep seeing this in videos, and I'm not a fan of the fact that it doesn't seem to be long enough for the entire foot. You either have the heel or toes off the unit, which doesn't sound correct.
@GarageGymLifeMedia13 күн бұрын
I think that's a function of the fact that it's primarily a calf training device which you can also use for other things. I also grant that this depends on the size of the foot on the person using it so I'd like to see him come out with a larger foot plate but that's probably not going to happen until after he sees ROI in the form of sales. That being said, he does have another version coming out so maybe that's going to be addressed with that one.
@Exponentedge112 күн бұрын
John is point on. My entire foot fits in the device. This is made as a device for your forefoot on calf raises and elevating a front or back foot for many lower body exercises and performing elevated squats, etc. There are videos on IG, my page and others, that show both landline squats come over first landmine squats and other hack squats with the whole foot on the device. 6 foot five and a size 16 shoe whole foot might not fit, but this device is great for crises and a number of lower body exercises that you would normally do with a wedge.

Keep in mind this has eight adjustable positions between parallel with the floor, six adjustable positions and about 5° each and then all the way down with the front portion touching the floor

I like this one even though it’s on the higher end of the price scale because I bought a cheaper one and it broke under me when I had 265lbs on my shoulders. Then the next one I got that was slightly more expensive was so slick that I had to chalk my feet to use it safely. This one is a much better design plus it sits up high enough and it’s wide enough for me to use it for a lot more than just calf and knees over toes work.
