Crab seemed to like the liver?
@photowarriorfundamentalfre352610 ай бұрын
The shrimp don't seem to give a crap about the crab; woulda thought they feared them, but the crab seem quite stupid and/or clumsy with their limbs, not very accurate or controlled movements; the shrimp just move around them like they are an inconvenience and not really a threat.

The point is put a two way swivel one on the hook and another on the end of your leader. Think that would work.

Dan is there lots in there? Can you normally hook into one each trip? I was thinking of taking my kid
@FishingWithDanVictoriaBC2 жыл бұрын
It's warm water fishing so go late May at the earliest. I used to hook up a lot but people chum and kill so there's a lot less now. Average is 5-6 pounds now. I know I got caught up in the invasive species nonsense propaganda and killed all these but I'm Catch and Release now. Elk Lake is man made/modified. The bass and trout are stocked, same with carp, none of those fish belong in a natural setting so I think it's ironic that people treat stocked bass and trout like trophies but carp are invasive....in an unnatural setting. Anyway, set up a rod holder, canned corn on a Carolina rig, loosen drag so line comes out real easy, sit back and wait. Don't go for bites, wait til you hear the real scream then pick it up. Don't set the hook, if the reel it screaming it's set! Keep the drag a little loose, they can go for quick and big runs. It can be almost like catching a salmon in a lake, from shore. There's a huge nasty spike on dorsal and anal fins, it's like a stinger from a ray fish.
