Looking to catch some lings off the breakwater this summer... haven't had much luck in the past. Any advice? tips, lures, spots that have been successful in the past?

Bait with a weight seems to produce, weight/leader/hook, heavy gear though eh ! Octopus leg or whole herring. Anywhere past the first set of metal stairs when walking out is good.

Also gibbs minnows/buzzbombs. Be prepared to lose some if you don't know the sandy spots
