This is the most genuinely heartfelt and touching Hollywood awards speech I've ever heard in my life, I can't help but cry to watch it. Michael Keaton seems to be one of the few humble down to earth souls in Hollyweird. That's probably why Hollywood shunned him for so long. So happy for his incredible successful come back.

It was an amazing time! I was lucky to be alive let alone involved in sculpting the scene. The "Sex and Violets" was a moniker that stuck in a brain storming session I had with owner Robin Fernandez and the rest of his amazing crew. I had actually pitched 2 concepts for their weekly event. One of which was to be "Sex and Violence" and was to feature footage of riots, violent car crashes, images of war and strife to be backed with hard core Punk, death metal, and speed metal! The other concept was more for their liking. A weekly venue of celebrating the beauty and wonder of human sexuality. I had imagery and a complete concept ready to help mould and promote the event! Then a "friend" offered his studio for a photoshoot to help promote the event. Shortly after the first photoshoot this "friend" met with the "powers that be" at Metropol and basically hi-jacked the entire docket of work I had developed for Metropol. I take the most pride in the (then) hip '80's music venue I labelled "1984". That Saturday night concept lasted for 5 years and was THE Pittsburgh hotspot the entire run! Somewhere along the line that "friend" bastardized what little he could and added his meaningless and ill conceived "make no judgements" tag. I claim NONE of that rubbish! It was an amazing time! We danced and sang like there was no tomorrow.

Most people will say "technology" - the Internet, the computer, the tablet, the smartphone. People communicate with a sense of transparency and immediacy, and business has followed suit. But as much as things have appeared to have changed remember Murrow's noteworthy insight: "The newest computer can merely compound, at speed, the oldest problem in the relations between human beings, and in the end the communicator will be confronted with the old problem, of what to say and how to say it."

Great video Kevin. This interesting. I have been saying that the problem with social media for business is that they aren't doing much that's interesting. If you're using it to "get the message out" about your brand, what's the difference between that a push marketing. I've been telling people, do something freaking interesting and make it available on all of the channels...then chill.

The marketing flavor of the day is so misunderstood. It’s not an end in and of itself, but a means to a larger integrated world. Everyone has to be there, even if they don’t know where “there” is - or even what it is. But we’ll help you make sense of it and show you how it fits in the scheme of things, no matter how goofy "tweeting," "poking," or "vining" sounds.

I like Mike Hill's comment, "the multi is bigger." There are so many types of media, and everyone has access to the tools to make them, so it really blurs the lines between an enthusiast and a professional.

For most, the biggest challenge is just keeping up. For those of us in the space it's trying to decide which of the oh so many choices available do we choose? More is not necessarily better. As Raelin Musuraca explains, "we're out over our skis much of the time," but isn't that what our clients pay us to do?

I love Dennis Moran's quote, "Design is not an add on, it's not something you do after the thinking. It's an intellectual process that has the potential to improve anything that takes a visual form."

Some say "marketing" is the biggest challenge in Marketing; identifying your audience and figuring out what to do. Things are changing, especially technology, but is it really any different than it's always been? What do you think?

I really like Brian Bronaugh's comment - "We don't make enough mistakes." Some fear failure, but I think we can learn a lot by pushing it a little too far. At least you now know where the edge is ;-)

You are exactly right about this poor excuse of a school. This is an institution that is fueled by money and the more students it gets, the more money its makes. Now you owe $40000, PTI could care less about you, they got their money. All that crap you hear about job placement and other hype is all smoke and mirrors. PTI is no different from Walmart or any other business. Also a two year associate degree from this circus is not enough. Sorry you wasted your money. Total scam!! STAY AWAY!!
