Very nice video, John. I rode the trail a couple of weeks before you did. I stayed in Avery, which is another 10 miles west of the Pearson Trailhead - down the Old Milwaukee RR grade. I rode up from Avery to the East Portal, and then back down. It was a 50-mile ride and was some of the most beautiful country I’ve ever ridden through. It looks like you ran into the same squirrel that I did. I also found deer in several of the tunnels on the way up. Next on my list of rides is the Trail of the Coeur d’Alene, from Plummer to Mullan and back.

@@johnsampson2544 We also did sections of the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes after the Hiawatha. We saw 4 moose between Harrison and Cataldo so keep an eye out for them.

Thanks, John. Great editing and shooting. You sure had a great day to do this. It's been on my b-list for quite a while!

It took me about 50 seconds into the video to realize this, but I also visited here. I really liked this city.

Spectacular in many ways. The effort it took to build these facilities during the period they were built, all by hand, is difficult to fathom!
