@gotfishing it's getting too cold to really use flies on the salmon now. Been up around riggins for past couple weekends swinging flies. Probably could get away with nymphing but I just like swinging for steelhead.

Thank you for the feedback! I haven't seen any new reports for this season, but you may check out Pyramid Fly Co. and The Reno Fly Shop's websites. They post weekly reports during the season that will give you detailed info. (Better than what I could tell you). Tight lines!

Chad has replaced the boats this year....custom little larger and wider....a side entrance walk in.....Thing in here Lysa and Chad...are always their......your not in a group of 30 to 100 guests....max 18.......i went out with 70 lbs of filets one trip and one 90 lbs.......note....all the things he says other lodges dont do....And his price point is reasonable........It's not just the Fishery,...nowhere at other lodges are the owners watching over you.....And yes the boats are built for comfort and protection from weather...i an over 70....and i want and demand comfort....past the year of open aired whalers in the rain and wind....I am telling you....this is not BS.......You get off the air plane....and it's a 10 minute drive......to lodge.....First afternoon got off the plane and went for a hike and took a e bike to the river 5 minutes away....and took a little hike up the river.....Chad is underestimating the likely hood of a exploding fishery

Everything the owner says is correct....this year 2024 i am going twice....i went twice last year and will continue to come....Why....it's like going home to the relatives for Christmas,,,,,the spectacular trip down the Skidegaate channel is breathtaking...last trip i counted 11 bears on the beach....As for fishing.....large protected new boats....only 6 boats folks in the fleet ...I have been to 20 lodges all over the coast and this one is the mecca of salmon and hali .....and you're going to have to the boat maybe 50 salmon to the boat....yes i said 50 salmon.....i go in June and mid August......i simply cannot say much more....enjoy the small lodge newly reno and new boats

The fish in Jurassic lake were from the Mccloud River. They weren’t steelhead.
@gotfishing
@gotfishing 8 ай бұрын
From we what have heard the fish actually came for the Santa Cruz river. They were steelhead smolt, but obviously once relocated to Strobel Lake (aka Jurassic Lake), and no longer had the ability to return to the ocean they became lake run rainbows.
@TiredAmerican247
@TiredAmerican247 8 ай бұрын
@@gotfishing they came from the Rio Santa Cruz which we’re Mccloud strain rainbows. Mccloud rainbows were the most wide spread stocked trout because of their hardiness. If weren’t for the mccloud places like Argentina and New Zealand wouldn’t have rainbow trout.
