Great video - btw been to Jurassic as well - you said it best - fish are the same size - and basically the same place - one has Rainbows the other Cutthroats - I'm at Pyramid almost every month during the season - my favorite fishery!

Cool video Ive found a dead 20+lb cutthroat in the Truckee in downtown Reno These monsters make it all the way down here! Hopefully season permits will be available soon!also fishing has been super slow past couple of years.

The fish in Jurassic lake were from the Mccloud River. They weren’t steelhead.

From we what have heard the fish actually came for the Santa Cruz river. They were steelhead smolt, but obviously once relocated to Strobel Lake (aka Jurassic Lake), and no longer had the ability to return to the ocean they became lake run rainbows.

@@gotfishing they came from the Rio Santa Cruz which we’re Mccloud strain rainbows. Mccloud rainbows were the most wide spread stocked trout because of their hardiness. If weren’t for the mccloud places like Argentina and New Zealand wouldn’t have rainbow trout.
