I can well see the UK watching this and taking ideas for their 'Protect and Survive' Series of Nuclear protection shorts.

Where I lived in CT in the 70s and 80s the next town over had a siren at their fire department they tested every week at 5pm . We used to call it the 5'o clock whistle. As long as it went off at 5pm. We always knew it was just a test. We were pretty close to counter-value targets in SW Connecticut .
