3 of the greatest goal keeper moments I’ve witnessed in person. Dudek’s final penalty save with his foot to win the UCL in 05. (Edit: also his double save in the 115th minute or something) Ben’s 96th minute penalty save against notts. And Alisson’s final header of the game to beat West Brom 2-1. 3 of the most standout goal keeper moments of my life time so far.

Now Burnley have been relegated from the Premier League he might get a game-or-two. Lawrence is a fine 'keeper, one of the best I've seen at Orient during my decades as a season-ticket holder, one of the best 'keepers I've seen with the ball at his feet, and definitely the best 'keeper in the entire division during the 2023-24 League Two season. He was outstanding whilst at Orient, barely missed a game, and whilst we were all very sad to see him go up north, he deserved his 'big' move. If he does stay at Burnley this summer, I hope he does get some significant game time during their 2024-25 EFL Championship campaign, so he can show everybody just what a good player he is. Is he the best Goalkeeper I've ever seen at the O's ? Possibly. As I previously stated, he's definitely the best I've seen at Orient with the ball at his feet, his passing range is outstanding, he's calm, he doesn't take silly risks, and he knows when to play it long and when to play it short. He rarely, very rarely, makes mistakes. The other really good 'keepers I've seen at Orient are Paul Heald, Glyn Garner, Jamie Jones and, albeit briefly, the Bosnian-born former Swiss international Eldin Jakupovic (he was on loan from then-Premier League outfit Hull City, played around 10 games in total for the O's). However, now I've written what I've just written, and read it back, I realize that yes, Vigouroux probably is the best 'keeper I've seen at Orient. Hopefully, one day, he'll return. And we actually do need a new first-choice 'keeper. Last season's main man between the sticks, 23-year-old Sol Brynn, who was also outstanding BTW in our title-winning team, was on a season-long loan from EFL Championship side Middlesbrough. I'm sure Sol would be welcomed back with open arms, by both the management team and by the fans - and I'm pretty sure head coach Richie Wellens wants him back - but unfortunately I don't think Brynn will be returning for a second loan stint. We most probably can't afford him on a permanent deal, probably can't afford his wages either, but whether he returns or not will largely depend on his contract situation, how long it has left to run, and what kind of first-team opportunities he'll have at Middlesbrough next season. Brynn was actually one of three goalkeepers Middlesbrough had out-on-loan during the 2023-24 campaign, with Zach Hemming excelling at Scottish Premiership outfit St. Mirren and Liam Roberts enjoying his time as Barnsley's first-choice. Meanwhile, Middlesbrough are currently spoilt for choice in their Goalkeeping department. As well as Brynn, Hemming and Roberts, they also have three other senior 'keepers currently on their books: Senegal international Seny Dieng, Australian 23-year-old Tom Glover, and, weirdly, ex-Orient man Jamie Jones, whom I mentioned above. The fact that Middlesbrough are currently inundated with excellent goalkeepers might just play in Orient's favour if indeed they do decide to bring Sol Brynn back. Here's hoping. But, if Sol doesn't re-sign, the door is open for Lawrence to make a hero's return. To do so he'd almost certainly have to take a wage cut, and truth be told it all depends on these factors: whether Burnley Head Coach Vincent Kompany still wants him around, which other 'keepers are still at the club following Burnley's relegation from the Premier League (remember they paid £18,000,000 for England U21 hero James Trafford) and whether Lawrence and his family want to continue living up North in Burnley (he's a London lad). It's an interesting quandary for the former Chile U20 international. Stay up north, earn seriously good money but accept you're going to be second-or-third choice, with the added possibility that you might not play a single first-team game, or, return to Orient and League One, earn less money, but play week-in, week-out, for a club on the rise, a club that will almost certainly be pushing for the League One playoff places next season. Every single Orient fan would have Lawrence back in a heartbeat, that's a fact, but we'll just have to wait and see...

Hi Mark, Thanks for the very helpful video. My son of 9yrs has had a few saves now that’s have really bent his wrist back as he likes finger saves. But it has brought a tear or 2 to his eyes as the force the kids can kick the ball these days 😳. Would you wrap a kids wrist any differently and is the first tape you use enough for some one his age?

Across the pond from Hollywood to Cymru, genuinely impressed how Ryan and Mac have taken Wrexham to new heights. North American club ownership hasn't had the best reputation in Europe due to the franchise model and ESL proposals but the duo have done a magnificent job in getting the team promoted to League One. You can tell they truly care about the heritage of the club and the people of the town. MK Dons, Chester, Chelsea - all notable examples of what NOT to do with a club. They clearly took note and have profited substantially. As a fellow non-league fan supporting Slough Town in the 6th division National League South, it would be my dream to see us get promoted in the same way Wrexham did. I'm all the way up north in Scotland and have to watch jumpy streams to follow my team lol, maybe someday I'll get to visit Arbour Park. The town residents must still be pinching themselves to see if it's real. Shows that teams even in the deepest depths on non-league turmoil can get out. Great podcast
