My first 500 pt game was My Necrons vs Tyranids, my immortals, & necrons warriors, and overlord saw that my will was done and we downed him him well at range and withered his gaunts and raveners, meanwhile my deathmarks provided some kills and harassing fire while ranging his incoming bugs... but after some good charge rolls my immortals were locked in fighting with raveners and then tyranid warriors... deathmarks ranged out the pyrovores as bitter melee fighting dragged on but bug flesh was smashed under my shiny metallic metal heels. In the end it all came down to just my Overlord and Cryptek slashing the hive tyrant to death in melee as my deathmarks kept themselves in position to fire killshots at the bug if my HQ needed to back off. The hive tyrant is a pretty big threat... but it's just an insect to a mighty necron dynasty man :)

I disagree massively that you want to take them in units of 30. 3 units of 10 is just flat out better than 1 unit of 30. 3 units of 10 cover way more board space than a 30 man unit, they are actually harder to knock down as you not only have an easier time getting them out of line of sight but also you force your opponent to split fire and become more likely to overkill a unit thus saving termagants on other units. If your opponent has no deep strike just run them as a blob of 30, if they do have deep strike 3x10 units cover (if placed well) over double the area that one 30 man covers for DSD. Not only that but you have the tactical flexability to quickly snag an extra objective with a 10 man while 20 keep pushing your opponents face. This puts more pressure on your opponent to either deal with the immediate threat or stop your objective scoring ones, either way is generally good for you. If a 10 man unit some how ends up out of synapse you are less likely to have huge morale losses on the unit, as the most you can lose on morale is 5, and yes while that would wipe the unit that is unavoidable if they are out of synapse. 30 has some minor benefits, better daisy chaining to get multiple synapse creatures in range of them so one dying doesn't kill them all. They are also better in units of 30 popping out a Trygon tunnel which if you are running a trygon I would maybe advise taking 30 gants (though you actually can't fit 30 termagants around a trygon if you put the trygon right on the 9" line). 30 does also support psychic powers better but if you are putting a catalyst on termagants the game is already going terribly for you unless it is 30 devourgants. Finally, and the most important aspect in my opinion, 3x10 man units make it a lot easier to detachment spam for CP.

Interessting game: 2 maxed out armies rush at each other. Pitifully there were some game changing rules errors! Angrons 3+ FNP was a travesty, he would’ve died otherwise quiet surely! The Arcus has ap 2 and should‘ve smoked the Jump infantry but alas.
