The crazy part about the Mixup Cube variants is that they made all of them exactly the same internally, to the point where it's almost impossible to turn without things popping. I once sketched up a redesign of it, and cut the piece count in half while theoretically improving stability.

Back the days we crafted them ourselfes. I remember the best golden old days where we build our own cubes and posted them on twistypuzzles. Then trying to find algorithms because noone knew how to solve the new puzzles. Sadly that industry was our downfall, at least everyone can afford such puzzles now. :D

I still have quite a bit of respect for hand-modders. There are obviously still many unexplored possibilities and I still think it seems a lot more involved and hands-on than 3D-printing (even though I do 3D-printing)

I remember having a ball-shaped rubik's cube with earth continents on it, I was a stupid kid and hated geography so I think I ended up breaking it apart.

When I clicked on this videos I expected to actually hear about the companies, how they were founded, weird marketing decisions, nonsensical mergers and divisions, and bizarre employee and executive scandals. It never occurred to me that it would just be a collection of oddly shaped Rubik's cubes.

VeryPuzzle Void Truncated Icosidodecahedron. I don't think they produce it anymore, so it's hard to find, and I unfortunately don't really know how to obtain it, so sorry about that

Thank you so much! It's a pity, but thanks to your comment I found the Void Tuttminx, it's close enough! (Shame that the Void Futtminx isn't a thing)

This is the kind of Autism that the world needs much more of. Like, if I had a regular conversation with a stranger and they randomly told me abour weird Rubik's Cubes for 7 minutes straight, I would listen intently the entire time and then give them my number afterwards.

I recently got back into cubing after an 8ish year break and I’m so happy to have stumbled upon this. Your videos on this are absolutely hilarious and gave me such a good laugh. The editing, pace and the jokes are on point and I hope to see more!

Awesome video, but you need to sloooooe down, my guy. Be mindful of your punctuation and take a breath, it'll be much easier to follow along. I understand you may want to speed through, maybe partially for a more comedic effect, but it hurts your topic. I don't know much about Rubik's cubes beyond the standard one, but it was very hard to follow along, especially with all the text on screen that I missed, because I don't have the same knowledge on cubes you clearly have (lots of, by the sound of it! Lol)
@Manabender13 күн бұрын
Since there seems to be a theme of offering a bunch of different puzzles that are mechanically identical but with different piece shapes, perhaps the logical conclusion would just be to offer a custom puzzle builder where you pick a mechanism, then populate it with whatever piece shapes and stickers you want (from those the company can make).
