I too haven’t senior citizen, and the Canadian but that song is for all of us for the whole world. Norman Selby, known as Charles "Kid" McCoy, the actor who plays the boxer who fights Donald Crisp's character in this one may have been about as big a POS in real life than Crisp's Battling Burrows character here.
