For someone to ever criticize Kate Smith, just can’t imagine it. When I was young the radio was our world. No tv. We had special reports on the war. Listened to “I remember MaMa”. Amos and Andy, Grand old Opry with Minnie Pearl. We were blessed to be a generation in the forties and fifties. The very Best Entertainment came out of the days of Vaudeville in the thirties as well. Jeanette McDonald and Nelson Eddy. Only a few. Some people try change even the best of the past. We may have had some crime. But the police that walked the beat, they were every kid’s friend. Didn’t have a filthy mouth. Good music. Patriots our National Anthem. Much of what is today is happening because some try to destroy the good things in our Nation. I’m proud to have said OUR pledge of allegiance and My Country ‘‘tis Of Thee. Our Children today need these things. They were Wholesome. At least. We went to church and meetings at schools. We were or tried to be good neighbors. Isn’t it time to wake up America and be true Americans Once Again?? Goff eating too!!😊

No one could sing that song, but Kate Smith and she sang that song. I just got really emotional. It’s like when I hear the Star-Spangled Banner or the American anthem. It affects me the same way next year if somebody else other than well if Trump gets been, we won’t hear those songs anymore, it will be under dictatorship and all that patriotism will just go out the window. I knew Mitch Mitchell. His son was a year younger than I, and lived down the road where I lived. His kids name was Walter. knew Mitch too.. We all lived in Valley Center CA. They rented a house on the Considine property. Walters uncle was "Sky King". A couple times he would escort Walter to school which was an elementary school. We shared the same bus ride and the same school. Mitch Mitchell were friends of my family. This was around 1959-1960.
