Church security is sheepdogs. They don't have weapons. They have Christ. I speak from first hand experience. Greater love hath no man than this. To lay down his life for his brothers. Sacrifice is the ultimate protection. We war not against flesh and blood. I was saved through the sacrifice of others. It is the ultimate protection and blessing. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Going to church and then going home to Jesus. Well, that's a novel idea! Faith in armed men or God? My protection was sacrifice without guns. I am sure not answering evil for evil with another gun. That God was well pleased. I will pray that God will reveal to you that violence for violence is not the answer for the Christian.

Actually the purpose of technique should be to train you in the physics of movement and motion...that's it. Ultimately you should train with technique to not have technique but to learn the principles of motion physics instead. That way, if attacked you will not be trying to apply any particular technique, but rather the principles by which any good technique is based. Just say.

On duty? You mean, alert. You're gonna get someone hurt with bad information. Then you play rock and roll at the end of your video, so don't call it a ministry.

Church security is a farce, self preservation is what's needed. Everyone should be armed and vigilant. People should be confronted for looking suspicious, not AFTER they pull a weapon. If their innocent and offended, tough tamales! Saving lives comes before saving feelings. The Texas shooter should have been drawn on as soon as the fake beard and long coat was recognized, then two lives might not have been lost.
@gunsquawk44434 жыл бұрын
Number 1 mistake, you should never refer to it as "taking a life", which you did. It's called "stopping the threat". So you failed.

I work church security and it is pretty demanding. I spend 40 hours a week at the church. I get what he’s saying about we’re not greeters but we do need to stand at doors and somewhat act like greeters so we can successfully neutralize the threat before it makes it into the sanctuary

I just scored a set for my XD9 service on GunBroker $58 shipped. Yes they were used but in like new condition, they also didn't come with any of the adjusting tools but that's not a big deal since I have all kinds of Tools around. All you need is a punch for installation and a couple of very small Allen wrenches to adjust the laser. Popped a new set of energizer batteries in and I'm in business. What a score! 😎

Your so correct. Most, with trainers, fail to recognize that the 21ft distance can easily closed inside of 1.5secs, leaving NO time for sight acquisition, just as you stated. One must train at some level in POINT SHOOTING, especially that the slide recoil doesn't bite you in the gutt leading to a one shot defense. Trigger finger point.

I agree with CCW BUT I ALSO BELIEVE THAT PRAYER ( BLOOD OF JESUS) SHOULD BE PRAYING BEFORE CHURCH FOR THIS TOPIC BUT MOST OF ALL THAT THE PRESENCE OF GOD ( THERE'S FREEDOM) SHOWS UP FOR THE SERVICE. There's a spiritual realm that is more real than here. Guns don't work there - PRAYER & THE WORD OF GOD. What happens in that realm will manifest here on Earth.

I understand that this is an old video but Think I can help. Wile in the military I worked at a nuclear missile base in Europe and was trained for defending the base as a hole including all three facility's. I believe this video is spot on over all but I would like to add some things. The multiple layers concept also provides redundancy in case there is a breakdown in procedures on any one ring. As for the outer defense (outer ring,) If the property is fenced use it. You need to guard the perimeter of the grounds, it's the first and best line of defense. Have guards at the gates with communication to people inside on one of the channels. Have a channel for all other guards so the teem leaders can assign work as needed without everyone hearing the call. Having guards stop each car and greet people as they enter wile being diligent for anything out of place. The (center ring,) You need to harden the building as much as possible. This has to do with making the building as hard to enter and secure as possible, you will do the same things that you would do to keep a burglar out. Having doors that are locked to someone outside wile easy to open from the inside, this can help cut down on the amount of people you need as guards. If you have a bunch of people in one room you need a guard at every doorway. I hope this helps.

You don’t see Secret Service greeting people or anyone really in the security field. It is NOT in the scope of security work. There are plenty of pew warmers that are fully qualified for that job. Security is not hiding in a corner just because they are not greeting people. No one ever said that.

EXCELLENT points and guidance!! I attend a rather large Church, and we have a 'set up' very similar to your commentary... Several On Duty Police Officers, both uniformed and 'plain-clothes' -- complete with very visibly parked Patrol Vehicles -- and the 'outer circle' is mostly Uniformed Officers along with a dedicated group of parking lot workers who are trained on how to be watchful and how to interact with the Officers. The inner circle is mostly covered by 'roaming' plain-clothes Officers, although some of them are actually open-carrying with Badges on their belt or even polo shirts with embroidered Badges. The Core includes a few of the Ushers, a plain-clothes 'Body Guard' for the Pastor and his Family, and the 'camera crew' are all Trained and CCW Permitted. I am a 'part-time' Usher, and not part of the Trained Team...but am clearly 'well-known' and readily recognized by Team Members as well as the general congregation -- not only because of my Usher duties, but also other involvements in various Church activities -- and many of them know I am a Retired Marine. But SINCE I am NOT part of the Trained and coordinated Team, I would quickly access the situation and "stay out of the way" unless the situation placed me in a position where I truly had the best chance of stopping the attack. Otherwise, I would focus on guiding the congregation in possible evacuation and providing Emergency Medical support as needed. ( I am also a former EMT.)
