Thank you so much for these videos Mel! I have rewatched and rewatched, Just thinking now talking about the layers of skin that products can penetrate, you mention drugstore brands penetrate the first (stratum corneum) and second layer (stratum lucidum) however on the face facial skincare products would penetrate the first layer being stratum corneum and second being granulosum because lucidum is only found on the palms and soles. Is this correct? Thanks again for all your hard work and wisdom throughout the years on your channel!

So I actually would say I don’t enjoy caci’s 😂 I feel like it’s because I have to focus so much it drains me. I also am with you with lash lifts, they can be stressful and also really fiddly. Pedicures definitely would be the first to go. In terms of favourites i like gel (not normal polish that also stresses me out), eyebrow waxing/facials and Hollywood/Brazilians as I can get them done in 10/15 minutes 😂 xx

@@lucie_sanderson loool I get where you’re coming from, a lot of my ex colleagues dislike the counting in caci too 🤣 but it’s all good - you take the brazlians/hollywoods and I’ll take the caci’s 🙋♀️☺️🩷

I also am not a fan of body waxing as I’m the same as you I’m a very messy waxer it goes everywhere 😂, my favourite treatment though is where I work I use shellac which is similar to gel but shellac nails is my favourite treatment

Thank you for this I was getting so upset and frustrated. I have thick chin hair that started after menopause. I have had so many electrolysis treatments. And in a few months, it grows right back. And I was alternating between plucking and face shaving between treatments. I wish my esthetician had told me about the information you shared at my first session.

Hi melis. After I get electrolysis done, I always go with full growth, so after for a few weeks the hair doesn’t grow back, is that a good sign its effective? (Even with plucking my hair grows back the next day)

I really like your channel! I'd like your opinion on my situation if you don't mind: I have a few dark hairs on my chin mixed with a looot of peach fuzz that can get pretty long and slightly darker with certain lighting (which makes me uncomfortable) Everytime I go to my electrolysis sessions, the person who takes of me (which seems pretty professional) manages to remove all of my dark hairs but doesn't remove all my lighter hairs. They know I want all the hair to be gone, is it a sign that I should go to another place or should I just wait for things to slowly change after every session? (I've been doing electrolysis every 2-3 weeks since February 2024)
@melisatesbelАй бұрын
@@unknownknown2078 Thank you! That’s a good question. It’s a good technique to thin out the hairs in general by getting rid of the thicker hairs first. The chin area can be very dense so every hair shouldn’t be removed otherwise you will swell up like a balloon and the healing won’t be great. So I personally wouldn’t say it’s a sign to change, not yet anyway. There are some electrologists that refuse to work on light fine peach fuzz so that’s also something to keep in mind too!
@unknownknown2078Ай бұрын
@@melisatesbel Thanks for the reply! My skin gets easily red during electrolysis so I feel like they often remove the thin hairs they see until they can't see them anymore due to the redness, but the day after my session I always look in the mirror and tell myself "ugh why didn't they remove those long light hairs too😭" ngl it would sometimes make me feel anxious like should have I insisted for them to do a real double check orrr

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18. I took birth control pills to make my periods regular. Now my ovaries are multifolicular. I'm struggling with undesirable hair growth pretty long, it is such a pressure, I barely endure this. Now I'm in Finland. I visited doctor here. I made blood check and it was really good. I was prescribed pills, I didn't have periods at all, but doctor told that for now it was fine. And my hair growing is slowd down ( it is on lower belly, neck and breast). In future I want to make laser hair removal.

15:31 Bloody hell... I had no idea hair could start that far up a face on someone who didnt have werewolf syndrome! I want to hug you. Went for electrolysis test patch, but was told I'd have to have laser instead if electrolysis due to having crowns in my top front teeth. Maybe I'm wrong and entitled to feel this way, but I'm rather peeved in all honesty! I'm *sure* that electrolysis is OK with crowns though; I've had MRIs before with my crowns on and had no issues. Off to look at your recommendations video

Thank you so much for this video, it gave me hope since I too have PCOS and struggle with huritism and losing weight. I just want to know if I should wait until I lose weight and deal with the hormonal imbalance or if I can start electrolysis right away. Because it is so embarassing for me to go out in public like this, so I started staying at home most of my time and I don't feel confident and yeah it's tiring.
