Atkins didn't stab Tate . People just cannot let this myth go , mostly because of Bugliosi's Helter Skelter book , and to a lesser extent Noguchi's mistaken belief that two knives inflicted different wounds on Tate and therefore there were two killers of Tate . It was Tex . See his accounts of the murders in his book Will You Die For Me? and his latest parole hearing transcript from 2021 for instance . Both are freely available online , I suggest people read them . Atkins lied about killing Tate, took it back , then lied again , all between 69-71 , after her arrest and when on trial. She made herself the female 'star' of the trial , and the prosecution were happy to exploit this need for attention.

Frykowski's death was so brutal. Tex Watson beat him 13 times with the revolver, which caused so much damage that Atkins recalls hearing the skull shattering. The police deemed the 13 wounds collectively fatal. On top of that, he was stabbed 51 times by Tex. He must have screamed and rattled and gurgled out sounds that would cause horror and pity in any half-way morally intact human being. How could they kill so mercilessly?

Two things I have always wondered about: 1. How many minutes do you think the killers were on the property? Did they accomplish all of these horrendous acts in 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes...what do you think? 2. According to the first few pages of Bugliosi's book, the neighbors heard gunshots, screams, barking dogs, etc...ranging anywhere from 11:30 pm until 4:30 am. So what time do you think this all occurred?

The Manson family family members who committed the murders said things went quickly. It was probably about 15 minutes total or so after they first encountered Steve Parent until they left the property. But it was probably more like 25-30 minutes total when they first started driving up the Cielo Dr hill, parked at the gate, climbed up the telephone poll and cut the telephone wires, backed up and went back down to the bottom of the hill and parked. Then walked back up the hill, jumped over the incline next to the fence and came upon Steve Parent starting to drive to the front gate where the killing started. JMO

Linda Kasabian still weeps when talking about this even 50 years after the fact when she gave an interview in partial silhouette; she was using drugs and assumed that they were doing another “creepy crawl” go in house and steal that’s it. She tried to tell them she heard someone coming she heard sirens eventually yelled to Susan “Sadie make it stop!!” Later either the night after or same night, they were sent to the apartment of an actor who Linda knew (to rob and kill him as well). Linda intentionally rang the wrong doorbell of a black neighbor because she knew they wouldn’t kill a black person. The same apartment where Susan Atkins defecated in the hallway before the group left the building.

Wow. That broke it down. I didn't realize Jay had been killed first. I thought he and Sharon were killed at the same time, him a few minutes before. I didn't realize he had been killed, lay dead there while Sharon was standing there with the killers. I knew Abigail had managed to run outside and tried to escape. Her boyfriend Wojciech I knew had tried to escape too. I knew Steven parent was the first that was killed but he was not there to visit the main house. My goodness, I often thought, if he had left literally one minute earlier, he would have driven right past them. Or, if he had stayed a while longer and could have escaped.

8:35 Omggg I can't imagine the horror Abigail had to endure 😣 being chased by a crazy person is one of my biggest nightmares, I feel so sorry for her... and also Sharon, just imagine you're a pregnant woman being forced to watch your friends being viciously murdered one by one and having to beg for your baby's life! My God 😔 what a terrible crime...

I watched a documentary on that...not that particular part. But the young man in the guest house said he heard nothing, and everyone thought it was impossible. All the screaming, I mean screaming and crying that would have come from the main house, surely would have been heard in the guest house. They did some test and found that indeed nothing could be heard in the guest house. So, I guess the same held true for Steven Parent. The houses were well insulated to hear nothing outside their own walls.

@@esterdrass4964 He heard the shots on Parent but thought someone lit off some fire crackers. However, he was about 80 yards away (give or take) from the parking lot where Parent was shot and understanding where the noise came from in a valley where sounds bounce all over the place is difficult. Also, he changed his testimony years later to say he heard yelling in the yard and saw shadows of someone chasing someone else into the front yard. Who knows if he ever told the truth.

@@mariaantoniettafloris4096 - A .22-calibur revolver doesn't make that much noise, bushes/shubbery absorb and deflect sound, and the canyons play tricks with sounds. Thee of them were in bedrooms at the far west side of the house, away from the driveway area, and at least two of them were gacked on MDA. The kid in the guest house was even farther away and the stereo was on. That's probably how no one paid any attention to the gunshots.
