As a biologist I have three main thoughts. 1.) there are fish in a mysterious hole under Death Valley? Awesome! 2.) I’m glad they are able to raise these fish in tanks. That means you can easily prevent extinction. 3.) main stream science looks like it went extinct and was replaced with childish political drama and mindless adherence to politically expedient dogma. As a Christian… don’t even get me started lol!

Get these little guys into the aquarium trade, so they can be preserved by citizen scientists.

I'm a stickler for accuracy and they don't live beneath Death Valley. The Devils Hole pupfish range is restricted to a single cave called Devils Hole located within Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge ( Not located within Death Valley ). Please do better.

If they say 128,000 years ago it was all ice, then it got hotter and melted, that was way before any human civilization, so the climate changes irrespective of us.. and no lifeform has "right to survive", it is entirely survival of the fittest in nature.

If you dont know how deep the lake is, these fish can survive superficial flashflooods, etc. They can survive on aquafers laying eggs etc practically undisturbed

We should be saving these fish instead of pandas, they just aren’t fit for life, and there’s many other species that should be saved instead of pandas.
@arkapadma3 күн бұрын
They're quiet pretty, for those people who save them. I hope you breed them and sell some to the hobbies, then they'll be uplifted from endangered status pretty soon. Aquarium hobbies is about loving nature.

Pretty similar to Tawilis, the only known freshwater sardines, that lives exclusively in Taal volcano's lake. After the massive 2020 explosion, people were worried it would drive the tawilis to extinction but somehow they survived the explosion.

How about put them in to the bigger breeding facility’s and then sell them to pet stores doing 3 things insuring there population can be preserved by breeders, pet stores and people who keep them as pets. 2 give the program trying to conserve there only habitat more funding, 3 last but most importantly saves tax payers dollars. Like we do this already with none endangered species. If we could increase there numbers through this route it seam like a win win for everyone. Fish numbers increase people get a cool fish to be able to have as a pet and taxes payer money is saved
