Yeah the inlays were the first attempt.. didn't work out exactly how I wanted.. But its got a vibe about it still.. Bit rough and grungy. The colour is not what I wanted either but is cool. Look kinda rosewood-ish.. It has started to wear now as I use it in my band, getting some cool patina about it. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting.. Cheers!

Gday! from the Sunshine Coast, QLD Australia!!. Thanks for tuning in... I have used the CV Strat in many band rehearsals since the upgrades. I use it specifically on two songs that require the classic clean Strat sound and it performs and sounds beautifully. Thanks again for the comment and kind words... Cheers!

I have the 2015 like this. Its amazing. I got mine second hand for a steal marked as and SE. Lol. It had mitey mite cloth wired ceramic pickups in it that look more like fender MIM dual bar magnet but cant find them anywhere. I still have them all loaded in the guard. I purchased a MIm player series loaded pickgiard same toroise and dropped it in. The tuners are very stiff but stays in tune well. Like low ratio too ill eventially get newer locking. Ive had it for a while since 2019. A year before that i bought my first electric black strat MIM standard FSR like gilmours. Absolutely love it but i wish the frets were taller. I play the CV alot. I do hope to try the stock pickups one day. Ive been looking for marketplace to drop some. That and id like a 50s vintage white cv also. I am loving the CV series. Mainly the chinese. But i like the indos too. Awesome to see your son involved. I wish i could go back to when my kids were younger. I woulf try to be more attentive. I got custody and worked back then alot. I had to. Us 3 against the world. I love them so much. Now i babysit the grandkidddos ...cheers from USA. Georgia.

Part of its charm... Still so much better feeling than the hard plastic feel. To be honest I use this guitar in my band as the main player and its not wearing or sustaining ding or damage anymore than any other guitar I have. Its really not a concern at all. It has a very nice quality "Nocaster" or early 50s pick ups in it so its not very twangy at all. It has such a sold sound that it has become my favorite player over many of my top end Brand name guitars due to it just works so well with any amp and is so versatile ans easy to use. The neck is nice enough but I do prefer a 60s Rosewood FB asymmetrical neck. So getting back to the pine body.. its a pretty dense piece of pine (for pine) hence its original weight. I hope it does ding up and age quickly so it can look like a played guitar with a history of Rockin!... Thank you for watching and commenting. .

I don't think the holes effect the bridge pickup like you think it does , you said yourself you like the Indo pickups better so.. maybe it is an improvement on the design. The Chinese guitar is by far the better built guitar solid alder bodies rosewood fretboards with Fender construction as in the truss rod hole access is partially into the fretboard like the usa counterparts , no veneers etc...

G'day mate!.. Yes agree 100%. We are both working towards making our own guitars. I have actually designed 6 six prototype head stock designs and 3 offset body design so far. Playing around with the Squires is a great way to learn how simple guitars can be improved while figuring/getting the feel for what type of guitar we would like to build. I don't expect my original guitars will be worth anything either due to the huge amount of experienced builders doing it.. there is heaps of them... Its all in the name of fun for Josh and I.

I modified my ‘50’s Classic Vibe Tele too. Mine was heavy - 10lb (4.5kg) - so, I routed it under the pickguard with a “Smugglers Rout”, added a belly carve and an arm cut and brought it down to a respectable 7.5lb (3.4kg) guitar now. I also put a short scale neck on it - Gibson Scale - and I put locking tuners on it and I love it now. I had to use a Heat gun to get the poly off. I then sanded it and let it hang during a dry summer to get as much moisture out of it as possible. Then I used a purple leather dye on it for a see through look of the grain. Then about 8 coats of wipe-on poly - nowhere close to what it originally had.

You can put a piece of tape over the pole pieces when you are ready to put the cover back on the neck pickup so that it will sound like a Tele neck pickup without the tap. Keep in mind that if you put $1000 into a $2000 Fender American, it's not worth $3000. So it is pointless to say that putting $500 into a $500 guitar doesn't make it a $1000 guitar. That's true of all guitars; partscasters are not worth the sum of their parts. But some of the most famous guitars ever are partscasters.

Wow I thought you ruined the dye job there for a minute! But you saved it and the result actually looks really good. Digging the hippie boatwood kinda vibe... 👍 A small tip, water down the dye with water or metho (depends on dye type) so it is really weak. Then apply with multiple coats so it takes 3 or 4 coats of dye to start getting close to the final colour you want. That's better than putting the dye on 10 times too dark and needing to sand it back (although that can also give a nice effect if you want that). Great to see Aussie guitar making content and that Tele looks 🥰 Liked and subbed. 👍🛎

It is from a physics standpoint impossible for the sound of that guitar through an amp to have changed even slightly. Sorry. It is *exactly* the same. The wood or whether it has a protective poly coat is irrelevant: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGGVpXyjmMpmd6c In fact you could have replaced that pine body with a *cement* body of the same dimensions and it would STILL sound EXACTLY the same through an amp. This is due to physics and the fundamental way electric guitars (non-microphonic magnetic pickups) work. It may sound different acoustically, but that's irrelevant since it is not an acoustic guitar and is heard through an amp via non-microphonic magnetic pickups that ONLY generate sound based on the vibration of the strings above them. It's not a matter for debate. It's science.
@GearCave_RetroVibe_Guitars
@GearCave_RetroVibe_Guitars 7 ай бұрын
Yes you mentioned that last time with the exact same link too. What has changed about the guitar is the "VIBE" not the plugged in tone... Pickups are pickups we get it, 100%. What changes is the weight and feel of the guitar along with the acoustic value of the guitar providing better feel.
@Great-Documentaries
@Great-Documentaries 7 ай бұрын
To reiterate from the previous video: Leo Fender TRIED using pine on his early Telecasters, but gave up due to how soft a wood it is. Fender is right to put a thick coat of poly on these. Nitro doesn't do anything to protect the body of a guitar. Our good friend poly does. I am more of a fan of the bright colors that punched you in the face than the muted look. *I do, however, love what you have done with the inlays. You even got the perfect good vibe typeface.* It really does look outstanding. Groovy even. 😎 Congrats and happy new year.
