Are your hands ahead of the ball at address (shaft lean) or behind the ball? Weight distribution in stance?

I lost 6 shots to terrible green side bunker play. I’ll definite practice this before my next round as it makes sense. Reminds me of toe up 8i chipping. One question is since you are apparently using 50% less efforts or 50% less distance with a pitch, why shouldn’t Bryson have used your technique for his crucial 50 yard green side bunker shot that helped him win the recent US open?
@colintapp48764 күн бұрын
Dear James,I really hope this works for me I seem to have tried everything bunkerwise including lessons and no one has suggested simplicity before so we will see.Also at my course no 2 bunkers are the same sandwise.

Thanks James for your videos. I play single length irons, and have followed Bryson DeChambeau's swing for years now. What you are teaching fits my game perfectly!! I have lost at least 5-7 strokes a round by using your toe down methods in chipping, pitching, and bunkers!! LOVE it!! I did have to make a few adjustments to ball position at address, but they still use your teaching. Keep the videos coming! How about fairway bunkers??? Steve

This is a perfect technique for golf courses like mine that don’t have the a ton of white fluffy sand, and also after it has rained! It works try it.

Beats the bunker lesson I had a couple years ago, with the "7 lines" to success! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This method builds on one of the few strengths of my game, as it is much more like a chip shot vs. a traditional sand explosion.

The problem I can see with this is at the course I play the greens are all raised greens an d medium to small in size, this method looks to create good carry and roll out when the ball lands. So yeah go me I'm out of the bunker but my balls now rolled off the green and I have an even harder chip to get back up onto a raised green or I've rolled into a bunker on the opposite side of the green. 85 bunkers on my home course with about 60% dotted around tight greens. I'm not good a bunker shots but I'm getting better at avoiding landing in them.

The video you did with Coach lockey helped my strike a lot in terms of left shoulder down toward left foot. I have also combined that with practicing with a metronome at 62 bpm. Have you done much with a metronome what bpm would you recommend?

BPM is variable but a 2:1 ratio often works well

Interest thinking. Worth pointing out that being shallow in soggy winter conditions would require some pretty skilled hands. I often find myself just trying to slab down on it to avoid the chunk. But in summer conditions nipping it with a shallow feeling is amazing. But i think I do most of that out of instinct. That's for the tip

this jumping and pulling the left foot forward is going to be an essential for me to drive effectively. the simple reason that i cannot plant and twist without hurting my knee which is sensitive to rotational forces. i haven't been able to find control yet with this approach (2 years playing) but i'm practicing this now.

My chipping and pitching has seriously improved after following your tips, great content, thanks James! I've been focusing on shifting into lead side in backswing and extending and rotating lead side. This seems to naturally fold the right knee inwards. would you recommend a more concious rotation of the trail knee to help ensure a better rotation?

Wewwy intewesting. I don't have a savvy enough mind to evaluate it, but Phil Mickelson has spoken about how he "hinges and holds" and (I believe) says he doesn't use the bounce. It's amazing how so many differing techniques can produce such great outcomes. Gotta admit, I'm lost without your videos and advice from a few friends who are better golfers than I.
