How to STOP the Golf Ball on the Green like a PGA Tour Player!
Everybody wants to hit the low spinner, or at least it seems that way. The question is will this give you the most stopping power? Of course hitting a super flop will stop the fastest but the high risk and challenging distance control makes it a no go for any situation where you have another choice.
The question is will a mid-high flight stop faster than a low spinner? A shot that isn't a stretch for most golfers to become good at. In this video James has a quick look at these shots and measures which slams the brakes on the fastest. The low spinner vs the mid-high with a lower spin rate.

Thanks James. It’s very helpful to see the comparison, with numbers, so clearly demonstrated. I have noticed lately a few tour pros saying they like to keep the flight low & spinny, but they’re not playing the wet, muddy courses in a Uk winter (or summer!?) with pocket handkerchief greens. I’ll put more practice into slightly higher shots, now!

Very nice video. Not so clear anymore that lower trajectory is easier for distance control than higher trajectory, right?

Thanks. It's certainly questionable as to what is too low, I still think it's fair to say that at a certain point high is too high to control carry easily due to slip etc. If it's stopping power we're after without having to get it perfect I lean towards adding a little height for sure.
