Every song is different in every concert. Those who need the concert to match the studio recordings will hate them for that. I love them for that.

Deceptively simple drum groove but playing an upbeat bass foot line that consistent for that long ain't no picnic. Very easy to speed up the tempo or rush the snare or lose the pocket. Scott Plouf was brilliant on these albums and live and this drummer is killing it also.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It’s almost too easy to keep it steady.

You can tell by the intro , when they're ready to play a fan favorite . I think they enjoy playing as well as we enjoy listening .

Any live performance of this song ,is far superior to the official video . His adaptation of his unique contemplation or interpretation , makes each time a show case of the bands versatility in remaining one of rock and rolls greatest band which is untouched by far in it's creativity .And they can still Rock

We watched this guy play a couple weeks ago. He has two young ladies playing with him now so it was a three piece show. All three of them killed it. I mean killed it. Terrific performance.

That drummer (I feel bad I don't know her name) has a real Moe Tucker vibe. She was so understated but was hitting that kit super hard when things ramped up it was amazing! ( I saw that line up in August)

Yep saw the 3 piece a month ago, was amazing. Lots of songs for 2 or even 3 guitars, I was wondering how Doug was going to play those. He nailed them, and the 2 ladies were great.

Sooo….. we’ve going to see the CCs every summer since 2004, and listening to them even longer. This one time at their concert at the Hollywood Bowl we looked around and realized the crowd was so old…we looked 👀 at each other and were surprised to realize….. we’re part of that crowd! Time flies… enjoy your youth 💝 We still listen & love The CCs ❤

I used to listen to Counting Crows a lot around the time I was 16. Life got in the way and, I forgot about them. Found them again in my 40's. But, damn...these songs have me crying. It feels like you can relate to things he mentions in his music and has personally been through. Sometimes I have to stop listening for a bit, and just take a break. lol. (Listening to "Rain king" just tears me up inside) It really hits me hard for some reason. I'm sure other people here can relate. They are an amazing band.

Pretty similar story. I "rediscovered" them in my mid-30s, about 8 or so years ago. Something about the lyrics are broad enough that makes them relatable, but also carry all of the meaning that we have trouble putting words to.

I feel ya. Most of this album makes me break down and cry. I've been listening to them since my teen years. His lyrics are beyond amazing and very relatable!

I associate most of their songs with withdrawal and change. I think we have all had times in life where the old no longer fits with the new. Searching for what might work.

Their musicianship is still superior to that of most bands, but increasingly they feel as though they are parodying what they were at their peak.

How to look like an average dad and still rock out to a sang you wrote 15 years prior. 1. Dress normally without a stylist on your staff.
