Man.. that opening number is like the bravest thing I have ever seen. To lead a set singing almost-a cappella is amazing.. and he rocks it.

Two deaf people had a look at this and gave it a thumbs down because their remaining senses were in a whirl.... Wonderful show by a very very talented singer/songwriter in the shape of Sam.... All ist klar.

I don't understand why many people say," Sam beam of Iron and wine" as if Iron and wine is a band... Sam beams IS Iron and wine. it's is just his stage nickname. he writes and performs all his songs. he hires a band to back him up in concerts as far as I know.

+Thorium m ... You think that's bad... Many years ago I used to have to work overtime to stop people referring to JETHRO TULL as a HIM... It was appalling listening to people referring to IAN ANDERSON as JETHRO TULL... With regards to SAM BEAM/IRON AND WINE - there are so many artists using what sounds like a band name these days... BON IVER, VILLAGERS, BRIGHT EYES, CITY AND COLOUR, CROOKED FINGERS and many more.... Just be grateful that we have these wonderful artists when there is so much dreadful trash around.

No, he has a band. He does solo shows but also sets with a full range of instrumentals.

13:35 "Papa died Smili- sunday" - Samuel Beam. I love that little mess up, because I do that every time I sing his songs, so it was pretty wonderful to hear the man himself getting caught up in his own words. Come back to Tallahassee Beam! FSU Misses you! A live album would be amazing by the way.

This rendition of Sodom South Georgia is my favorite he's done. The sweeping background is hauntingly nostalgic and somberly calming. I wish he would record all the alternate styles he performs his songs in.

Thanks for posting! Always on the lookout for new music from Sam. I keep hoping he will put out a DVD, so I can get him up on the Big Screen. Oh, the picture quality is just fine.

Sam Beam looks like a musical Alpha version of Zach Galafanakis. Maybe they were brothers at one time and Sam was first born. The parents looked out for Sam, taught him respect, kindness and the ability to raise people up through the lyrical love of his voice and simple but beautiful guitar melodies. Zach was the bastard brother who was born when the mother thought she was just passing a really big turd and allowed him to live under the stairs while they supported Sam. Zach then went on to become an overweight actor known for his weirdness because he couldn't quite grasp the whole "grown up" thing.

It's amazing to me he only uses his thumb and pointer finger when playing. I use all 5 fingers and I can barely play his fuckin songs lol.
@xbadkitty24579 жыл бұрын
+MyCatShitsFire how do you figure? 10:00 (give or take), hes using all of his digits, albeit using a pick....i dont play the guitar, so it all looks hard to me, or at best a mystery, heh. (sorry to respond to such an old post x.x)
@PoScaboose8 жыл бұрын
Whenever he is finger picking, like in Naked As We Came, it looks as though he's using only his thumb and forefinger which, for the speed of the picking, is pretty impressive as most people will use at least four fingers to pick something like that. (Old reply)
@viprflowrs4 жыл бұрын
I also ply with only my thumb and pointer finger!
@nightsonnyjim2 жыл бұрын
I've thought about this too, it's sounds like he's using more than 2 fingers. I'm a guitar player and use 4 fingers when I fingerpick. I got trigger-finger in my middle finger years ago and started looking to Sam as inspiration to learning another way of playing withoutmy middle finger.
