@kinghamracing2 ай бұрын
I'm not sure you understand how a dyno is used, it doesn't give HP numbers unless you make a power run, which is conducted from low revs in top gear to maximum revs at full throttle. A calculation is then made by the software and a graph showing various readings, including hp is produced. That is not what we were doing here, we were using it as a rolling road so THERE ARE NO NUMBERS. If you want to see a power run on a Vincent (with hp numbers) take a look at our other video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGKUZ6mKgceUq80si=IRkkWkvNtcEo0xr6

Hi, I have a custom K100 2V and I was wondering if it would be possible to use your kit together with the 2v throttle bodies by adapting the TPS to them. I guess the power gain is mostly because of the leaner mixture and not only because of the larger 4V throttle bodies (although that has a similar outcome)? Theoretically you’d have better torque at low ends with the standard tb‘s because of the faster flowing air at the smaller diameter… Cheers, Richard
@kinghamracing3 ай бұрын
Yes that would work, if you can adapt the 16v TPS to fit the 8v throttle bodies. Performance gain on 1mm smaller/larger TB's is probably negligible.

The Vincent Black Lightning was the "fastest production motorcycle" for decades because Rollie Free rode one nearly naked, lying on the rear fender to a top speed of 150mph at Bonneville in 1948. This wasnt surpassed until the appearance of modern 4-cylinder Japanese bikes in the 1980s.

Why is the gear-changing necessary? Surely the peak power is the same in any gear?
@kinghamracing4 ай бұрын
You can't start the bike in top gear, need to start off in 1st or 2nd. We are not measuring peak power here but if we were it would be done in top gear.
@bradpotter64012 ай бұрын
I believe transmissions are the most efficient in top gear where there is no reduction through the gears. The input and output shaft are locked together and the power is not transferred through the countershaft.
@greatkingrat2 ай бұрын
When dynoing a bike (or any vehicle) you need it to be in the gear that is the closest to 1:1 ratio for a proper test. A lower gear will reduce the power figures.

Looks like the Manx's and the like had the ability to brake later and keep the revs up compared to the Vincent? You could hear the 500cc Manx's on the revs out of the bends but the big Vincent seemed to drop out of the power band? Only on the longish straight did the extra beef of the Vinnie tell and he could pass the littler bikes
@kinghamracing5 ай бұрын
That's about right, depends on the circuit, but the Manx's are lighter and have better brakes. Some have 6 speed gearbox too. With the Vincent we are limited by the rules and must use the original brakes.

@kinghamracing7 ай бұрын
You would only need a relay for the fuel pump and the cooling fan. Both of which are run by the ecu and can be set in the software. You can set prime time for the fuel pump at key on and the temp at which the fan comes on and off. The system uses the stock K water temp sensor.@@mechealkolefire1574

@kinghamracing10 ай бұрын
The system means you don't need to fit the MAF, so you can fit pod filters if you wish or any type of air intake. at 5:20 into the vid you can see the parts from the stock system that are no longer needed. Thanks.
