Got mine yesterday and am blown away. Need a backup. I want to do a blind with it, sagamore sherry finish and bourbon pursuits sherry finish.

Not surprised by the results. I’ve had 2 ounces of the RR15 and I’ve decided to simply not spend the money despite it being the best RR product I’ve had. Maybe I’ll be able to trade for it and have the retail cost be in my favor, who knows.
@a68freak12 сағат бұрын
Love how you did this. I thought the RR13 was more memorable but I’ve only had one pour of the 13 and 15. Based on your descriptions I had B,A, C, and D. Fun watch. Thanks Jeff

Thanks for this review. I found a store pick by me that is $90 all in. I may give it a go now if I can get a buddy to chip in with me.

Great review. I own all of these except for the M&J pick and although I haven’t done this blind, my corresponding ratings of each would suggest the same final order.

RR 15 is one of the best bourbons I have tasted. Have been lucky to secure 5 bottles of it. I have sampled out 2 bottles to friends and have 3 bottles left. 🥃

Good man, this is a great one to share to help others experience this. I will grade the .5 ounce i have left soon (but samples don’t count towards my top ten).

It doesn't seem many know that upstairs at the distillery you could get two pours for $26. I said $200 no way... went upstairs tried it. Confirmed (to me) it didn't tickle my pickle. My second pour was the 11 year old Harden's Creek Golden Origins Corn Whiskey. Double Distilled and finished in used toasted barrels. This DID tickle the pickle and was a great buy at $119.99.

I’d have to agree with your review. It’s a good pour but not a great pour for the price. Proofing it down to 100 proof was definitely a mistake in my opinion. I expected more and I just didn’t get it.

I was just going to look this up, $200 plus??? Definitely not, and moving on!

200 your kidding right. Dude I’ll stick with the 114 all day. Maybe at 150 I’d buy one but not a bottle I’ll be getting ever.
@georgesawtooth16 сағат бұрын
It's expensive because there is a limited quantity. The 114 OGD is my favorite bourbon.

Jeff, I just got mine today. A good friend picked me up a bottle. I was highly impressed. Aged Beam just hits differently. I also got the Old Overholt 11 Year, and it’s also really good.

OGD 114 is my favorite budget and came into the 16 expecting a similar profile but man it’s just way too much rye spice to my liking even though I love ryes
@helloagainwhiskeyfriendsКүн бұрын
I feel like they had to proof it down due to that rye spice. I heard people say they proofed it down for the oak, but it is spicy beyond the math at 100 proof.

Glad i tried at the blitz, its good, but not for $200, passed on it on say home at Beam, nice to see your many outfits this weekend, your the best 👍🥃

For $200 it better taste like gold. Thats a giant leap from Old G BiB and 114…$25-$35

We were there the day it released at Beam. They must have made a ton. We didn't get there till around lunch and they had plenty. Also has about 10 other LE's out. Couldn't afford them all :(
@helloagainwhiskeyfriendsКүн бұрын
Can’t catch them all - I had be “good” this weekend too. Doesn’t help that we picked a NBC 8 year on Thursday and I try to get a few of our own picks when they happen. Killing my budget.

nice to see a new old grand dad, but no way in hell anything with that name attached to it is worth 200..i did find some handles of old taylor 6 for 25 dollars a piece..have you had old taylor or seen it before?

I have seen it but I have not tried it. I believe Party Source by me always has it.

I've tried it. Not nearly worth 200. Tastes more like a 60 or 70 dollar whiskey
@helloagainwhiskeyfriendsКүн бұрын
Nearly all of the bottles I graded higher than this are in the $70 to $100 range. Justifying the price comes down to how much you love rich, deep oak profile.
