Really enjoy your videos and enthusiasm! One thing - if you're getting bitten off by pike often, I'd move to a thin wire trace as leaving a lure in the pike's jaw can mean a slow death for the pike. I recommend something like 13lb AFW Surflon Micro Supreme - really fine and supple. 👍

Thanks for watching and enjoying 🤝 You are right, in places where I'm getting bitten off by pike, definitely need to use thin wire trace. Will look into your trace suggestion and thanks for noticing and pointing out bad things. With all your help I'll get better 😁💪👊🎣

Hello, yeah it is KastKing Kestrel. I didn't do anything to it, had no time yet 😅 It is good reel for the money but it's not strong reel. And I'm fishing with very small weights, bigger weights would kill this reel even quicker. If you have money and willing to spend for good product then strongly suggest: Daiwa Airity St Sf Shimano Vanquish

@ManAndRod si puedes hablar de hilos, estoy con el.sufix nano braid 0.03 pero me gustaría un monofilamento sinking para trabajar mejor los señuelos hundidos y en especial los vinilos. Gracias
@ManAndRod18 күн бұрын
I'm not keen on mono lines, they are more stretchy and less informative. For nano jigging would recommend to use #0.2 PE or thinner. Then you can cast better, less interaction with wind and more sensitive

Sorry m8 but i just dont get it, thats a fish with a size 6 hook and s 7 gram weight that its dragging around, why not use a light trace stops being bitten. This isnt the first vid you have done this or you could flatten the barbs?
@ManAndRodАй бұрын
Not a fan of wire traces. I should use them more often but can't force myself 😅 are you saying i should yse lighter weights? Rivers usually too strong for lighter and hard to present lure in where i want 🤔🎣
@James.grahamEFCАй бұрын
@ManAndRod try titanium traces, you can go a light as you want. I get what your saying but I've caught fish in the past and had to remove 4 hooks from them, just dont think if fair.
@ManAndRodАй бұрын
So true, you're absolutely right, this not fair for fish. Will try force myself to use thin trace or as you said at least to debarbe them. Thanks for pointing that out 👊🎣

Greetings, Thank you for this video. Rod looks like it has nice action for small jigs. Would you say this rod has enough backbone to handle larger fish? Im considering buying this for Trophy Trout😊.. Thank you.....
@ManAndRodАй бұрын
Greetings, Thank you for watching 🤝 This rod is very nice for small jigs. Sensitive and good price for what you get. With this rod I'm using very thin line. Personally i didn't caught big trout on this rod, biggest was about 35 or 40cm. I don't think it would be good choice for trophy trout in fast rivers 🤔 it has some back bone bur not too much, it very flexible. I think you woud struggle with 50cm or bigger trout. But hard to say as i never caught that size in fast water 👊🎣
@jso275Ай бұрын
@ManAndRod I live in California U.S. During winter lakes get stocked with good size trout up to 8lb. I'm looking for a Ultralight rod to fish 1gram or less plastic lures. Thank you for sharing information about this rod. Looks like very Fun rod to use 🙂👍
@ManAndRodАй бұрын
In lake can be totally different as you have no current helping fish and you have more space to play fish. I can't tell you how good it would be for you but yeah, this rod is fun 😁 if you will end up buying it, can you let me know later how this rod is for big trout in lake. I'm very curious 🤔😁👊🎣

hey. I really like your content, but dont put zanders (or any fish) on snow please. unlike pikes, zanders are sensitive in the winter. even regular catch and release is more stressful to them in the winter and more die that way than in summer times.

@no0kieNRWАй бұрын
@@ManAndRod all good. by the way since fish are poikilothermic their cells will also freeze way way quicker than a mammals on snow. when its really cold its best to unhook the fish in the net in the water. also pikes are really sensitive in the summer when the water temperature is around 25 degrees celsius and higher. when the water is really warm especially big pike die super easy due to the stress of being caught.
