Ah sorry just seeing this now! It's called 21 Chump Street, it's a 15 minute musical adaptation of a This American Life piece that Lin Manuel Miranda wrote back in 2014! You can find the full thing on KZbin if you search for it!

Love it! The unsettled chord when Daedalus is talking about Icarus coming back, really nice touch. And I just generally love retelling classical myths and such, Daedalus is a very interesting morality story for the Greeks but this puts a really interesting spin on it as well, lovely music and singing as always :) Also, "What am I left with now? Some feathers and wax and a life I don't know how to live..." Damn that's good.

Haha it's incredible, right? Audra, Meryl, and Christine sang it together for Sondheim's 90th birthday livestream. The whole performance is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y56lcmyqg8miosk Broadway.com also has the full livestream on their KZbin channel. It's worth checking out, they do a little group performance of "I'm Still Here" from Follies at the end that is also very good!

The one with Santino Fontana? It's called "Fine" from a musical called Ordinary Days by Adam Gwon! There's a cast recording (different cast but still great performances) available to stream/purchase on Spotify, Apple Music, etc.!

unpopular (?) opinion: bare the musical is garbage. bare a POP OPERA is where it’s at
@Jackie-Frac2 жыл бұрын
that's almost certainly the more popular opinion! I can't argue with it, but I do disagree - mostly because I saw bare: the musical at a very important time in my life and it was my first encounter with that story, but all our opinions are shaped by what we bring with us so I'm not special in that regard. "Absolution" is in both scores, though, so it's not really even relevant here. I do think, regardless of your opinion on changes to the book/score, Taylor Trensch has such a lovable child-like energy about him and he's really great in that production!

It's from a project called "21 Chump Street" - it's a short musical Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote for This American Life, a 15-minute adaptation of a radio piece they did. I believe the whole thing is available to to view on KZbin, I recommend checking it out!!
