Sennheiser has entered the consumer wireless race, late and too big and bulky IMO, couldn't be used with the Insta360's 360 cams without seeing it. The thickness is a total miss and a major oversight from Sennheiser. I would expect more(meaning less bulk) from them. Hand mic mode is inovative though.

does this transmit and record or did it have to lose the transmission to start recording internally
@vistek5 күн бұрын
You can choose to record manually at any time (which i would recommend always doing this), but as shown when the signal cuts out, the transmitters (if not already recording) will start to record what is being said to them. You just have to sync in post to replace the audio recorded in camera with the audio recorded in the transmitter.

Thats why most people lost trust with KZbinrs because KZbinrs encourage companies to make products that are sub par or not that good and call them great or a game changer or an all in one solution or KZbinrs allow these companies to get airtime because of “at the end of day, we want to get paid” kind of thinking.

The whole exposure explanation is fire, but the davinci part could use some refinement. Using the global exposure on hdr wheels gives you photometric stop adjustment and also the primary wheels if put into linear colorspace and then using the gain exposure. Going with lift gamma gain or curves are no precise adjustments and in fact can add different, unwanted, contrast.

Thanks for the great comment. I think I made (or hopefully I did) a statement in the video that I am not a professional colourist, so viewers need to take this into account. That said, every DP that I know, and all my research online just uses the LGG Offset Wheel. I also checked with two other professional colourists before making this video, and they confirmed the same. I'm not saying you're incorrect - far from it! I value this insight, and I'll be trying it out. Though, viewers should know that this segment is not the meat and potatoes of this video and subject to one's understanding of NLE/Colour technology.

Only downside with their CapLock system is the mounting point it is made of hard plastic instead of aluminum metal. Beetle clip can sometimes dig into your body depending how it mounted. Otherwise the quick latch system is better than Peak Design's capture clip which are painful to screw on tight.

Isn't it better to take a 2 year course in auto mechanics to learn to drive a car? Yes, probably. Necessary? Not at all. There are artists, and there are technicians. Some artists can also be technicians, some technicians can make really good art - but what works for one person doesn't work for another. Some people aren't curious, some people don't have time to learn the intricacies, and instead are grateful for systems that allow them to express themselves fully with the minimal time investment so that they can focus their energy and time on what really matters to them. Just my opinion though...

GoPro is eirher going or evolve or be left in the dust, dji and insta action cams have caught up to GoPro's day time quality and stabilisation largely, but they completely destroy gopro in low light scenarios. At this point, gopro is for people who like to stick to one brand and dont like change, but as for raw performance, both dji and insta are more cappable cameras overall, they preform better in a multitude of lighting scenarios, from low light to bright and clear skies, they do the job just fine, gopro is a daytime only camera.

I bought the new Sony 85mm 1.4 GM II because it is extremly sharp, it has both aperture ring and AF/MF switch, which I miss on my Zeiss Batis 85mm 1.8 T*, the only downside with the new Sony 85mm 1.4 GM II compared to my Zeiss Batis 85mm 1.8 T* is that it weight 190g more, but I can live with that.

It's a good thing Fujifilm has produced an affordable, high-quality camera. However, it's unfortunate that the lenses cost twice as much as the camera.
@vistek19 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment, darsanvikas. There are a number of reasons that this might be the case - one is the optical quality of Fujinon lenses. Sure, not all are runaway bangers, but overall Fujinon lenses have a higher standard of quality - inline with Zeiss, or Leitz optics. So in that way, good will never be cheap, though I do recognize that Fujifilm/Fujinon has to make some value-oriented glass for new photographers/filmmakers. The other is the simple cost or R&D & production - much of the tech that goes into the X-M5, has already been flushed out in their other cameras, so the consumer isn't having to offset the R&D costs for a model like this, whereas there is probably a much larger R&D offset cost to cameras like the GFX 100, or the X-H2 series cameras. This of course, is just my opinion based on my understanding of the economics of the industry.

Like all my videos, I had to triage what to discuss, and what to leave out. I really wanted to focus on fluid heads and just balance/usage. Many new operators, filmmakers, videographers don't understand how a fluidhead works and I wanted to create something that got them on the same knowledge level as union camera operators or camera assistants.

That sharpness straight from f2.8 at that size and weight? Yep, that's a purchase from me. I sold my Tamron 17-70 because I found it too big so this is a welcome replacement. Can't wait for it to arrive. Hope they make a new wide angle red badge soon. Also, lovely duck footage! This 500mm is out of my budget so the 150-600mm will have to do.
@vistek19 күн бұрын
The 150-600 is still a great lens! Sure, there is a notable optical trade off, but not everyone is going to notice that, and I think versatility sometimes wins. The 16-55, however - oufff the Mark 2 really sets the bar high. It was not easy giving that lens back to Fujifilm!

This camera is bad; no IBIS?! Just get a Micro Four Thirds camera like an OM System OM-5 if you want a SMALL camera; has IBIS, has an EVF, better and smaller lenses.
@vistek19 күн бұрын
Hi Thomas, I totally get that it might be baffling - the exclusion of IBIS. There are many reasons for this, and as I mentioned in the video - every camera at this price point (at least the APS-C sensors) all exclude IBIS. One is, that it keeps costs down, and as you eluded to, keeps the size down as well. There are also many reasons why someone may still choose this over M43. One is their preference to a Fujifilm image, film simulations, or just the little bite wider FOV of APS-C. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of M43 for many reasons - but that doesn't mean that I think M43 is an automatic solution, or is immediately a better choice for people. Things like EVF are an issue, but not necessarily for the people who this camera is geared towards. As for lenses, I'd advise caution on the assumption that M43 lenses are "better." Better is a moving target, and is highly subjective.

This is the most detailed video I have seen on the new 16-55mm yet. I appreciate you showing the difference in bokeh and sharpness throughout the aperture. That being said, even with the size and weight reduction, I can't justify upgrading to the new lens currently. If I were to start over, I would absolutely pick this up today. People on a budget shouldn't ignore the original though. If you can get the Mark I for less than half the price of the new version then that's truly incredible.

I'm not moving to the Mark II either. I like the size of the first version. Yes, it is heavy, but it also feels and looks "premium".

the new 16-55 with its lens hood on (forward or reversely attached), would it bump on a plain surface on XT5 or XH2?

Hi Cedric, I'm not sure I understand the question. Could you possibly rephrase it? I'm unclear about what you mean by "bump on a plain surface."
@cedric337919 күн бұрын
@@vistek excuse me for my English. I was wondering like, if I got the lens with lens hood on, on a xt5 or xh2, and let's say I put the camera on the table, would it be wobbly on the table like phones with camera bumps?(like does the lens elevate the camera off the table a little bit because of its diameter)
@vistek19 күн бұрын
Hi Cedric - no problem. Good question - and honestly, I don't recall what it was like without using the external grip on my X-H2s. It's smaller than the original, so I think it is going to be quite flush with the camera body. The camera would likely lay flat with the lens hood on. Just a guess, though!
@cedric337918 күн бұрын
@@vistek Appreciate it! Would definitely try it out when it comes out. I bet there are lots of people like me who cares if the lens stays flat with the camera which makes me willing to put the lens as a always-on my camera over a prime which usually has a humble profile.

I thought the original 16-55mm was over-rated and was considering adapting a Canon EF-S 17-55mm with OIS for video on X-T3. This new version looks very promising and the mage quality looks good from your samples. I believe the focus breathing appears better than the Canon from initial reports so its just missing OIS. How is the focus ring travel adjusted? Does it require a firmware upgrade and if so will older cameras be compatible is important? Some features of the 18-120mm were not compatible with older bodies. Not impressed with the IQ of the 500mm as does not look sharp from what I have seen. My understanding is the 500mm is the same GfX lens adapted with the FX Mount and a paint job.
