I think this is a logical mirrorless alternative to the 28mm 1.4 and 40mm 1.4 prime series from the DSLR days. The 2/3 stop difference is not huge and a lot of narrative perspective "happens" between 28 and 45mm - 28mm is not so wide that getting closer to a human subject distorts it to an unreasonable degree (which I find can happen with 24mm) while 42-45mm is absolutely ideal for any scene requiring a POV feel. I'd love to, and hopefully will, add this lens to my bag somewhen down the line. Thank you very much for your well informed and concise take!

It is good coverage of the new design. What will be interesting in a few months is making the comparison of the classic 18-35mm ART with the Metabones Ultra on the GH7/G9 II [25-50mm equivalent field of view for 24x36mm sensors], and the reviewed 28-45mm on the S5 II. Many videographers seem to have started their investment back with the GH5 and Metabones Speedbooster, and in some ways it seems like this lens is a match for those users. There has been communication that Metabones will have firmware for their m43 adapters and Lumix PDAF (G9 II/GH7) by the end of summer, so there will likely be many m43 users considering whether to move to the 28-45mm and L mount, or invest in one of the new PDAF bodies. For my part, I have the 24-35mm ART for EF, and it is a useful lens on several mounts with the caveat that it performs poorly with infrared imagery and like this lens uses the large 82mm thread. You do good reviews, the only technical ask would be showing a functioning gimbal setup and whether the Lumix body focus throw (degree) settings work through the gimbal controls on this lens.

this lens is like a 28-45 1.8mm, and 67mm 2.8(aps-c mode) during video

cropping does not change focal length or aperture.
