It's the same issue with the football manager franchise. Tiny improvements each year which do not warrant a new release yet they still do it and people buy it. However, this year they royally screwed up by adding and changing a bunch of stuff no-one wanted or was interested in and ended up having to delay launch of the latest iteration until 2025.

F1 2025 was a huge disappointment. Constant handling changes at the start of the game. Changing set-ups to cater for the changes was annoying. Trophies were horrible with a RNG one linked to Fanzone. Content was poor. Took ages to rank up F1 World go 1000 and there was hardly any new races to do. Online is still a mess and casual lobbies were super buggy. As soon as I got the platinum I deleted the game.

F1 97 has never been topped on console. What frustrates so much about current games is how bland they are with a controller especially. Despite graphics developments, damage is shocking and basic. You can't have car failures. The obsession with "my team". And don't get me started on microtransactions.

Somehow the only good racing games are Iracing an world of outlaws (also owned by iracing is nascar 25') An people are hyping that up as the greatest NASCAR game since 15' Y'know what, every racing series should have iracing as there game developers Also screw ea, they ruined tons of games

I played first f1 code master game. Lasted hr went back to gp4. Tried a free play weekend few years later. Lasted hr. Hated it. Now look at real F1 and I'm just not interested any more. Watching sports cars and play le man's and ACC.

EA was always going to ruin the games, less content, more monetization. But tbh the bigger issue is the yearly release schedule, its always gunna make it difficult to have proper improvements

The Reasons is EA they are one of the worst things to happen to the gaming industry along with Ubisoft. My last F1 was F12020 and I will not be buying anything from EA. Seeing that 89% drop since EA was bought by Codies is beautiful, well done to the community. Screw you EA! But they will blame codies and shut them down as usual. Imo, F1 2020 and F1 23 were the best F1 games I have played, and AI have played since 2015! I started league racing on 22 where I had to have traction on medium to at least stay pointing in the right direction and ABS on. F1 23 was my game, traction felt so much better to the point where off felt like medium on the previous years game, however I did run with ABS on for most races as rear-brake locking was very common, but I still managed to win 3 races on it, Hungary was my first in dry-wet-dry conditions, Monaco by 28 seconds (absolutely dominated), and Singapore as the race leader spun out of Turn 3, and I felt confident on it. F1 24... Eh, honestly is quite bad. I don't feel confident at most tracks which maybe is a setup issue, but I still try and perform. The handling to updates have really screwed me over, and I just can't carry as much speed as I see others doing through corners. I finally did though have a good race around Silverstone where I got a P6... Although I did Qualify in P4, passed them and looked for a podium and then wheel dissconections but I still enjoyed it!

F1 23 best AI?!?! wtf lol after one season the upgrades spike the AI at an insurmountable rate, while previous games stay balanced, like 2018 2020

F1 can be a one time purchase game, since they're all the same anyways, they can just have yearly updates with older titles available as a game mode if you're into that and can have maybe DLCs here and there.

We can't even blame it on ea. Codemaster kept fumbling major things in each game year after year. Ea was just the icining on the cake

Finally someone pointing out that changing the engine won't improve things. It needs an overhaul yes but technically it's solid - the problem is that the handling has gotten confused, multiplayer and backend hasn't been overhauled in a decade, and there's nothing new the games actually offer worth checking out since I last played in anger with 2020.

The main problem with f1 24 is the DRS trains. The AI just literally always leave space which is sad cos they become so easy to bully off the line, so easy to overtake, and then youll instantly have ERS to the next driver cos nobody has dirty air and DRS activates in 1 lap instead of 2 so no gaps get big enough. P sure all AI use ERS at the same time too so theres no difference. Plus when drivers race each other they often get locked in an overtake battle the ENTIRE race which is so unrealistic. Plus you can't warm tyres for SHIT in the formation lap. Plus driving in the wet weather is total ass and i have to drop my AI by 10 at least. (I drive with assists on controller on 99 AI avg). Plus forcing a mistake against AI is pretty easy, 1 of them is bound to lockup per race. Theres more but this is already a long list.

Super Monaco GP (1&2) on the Megadrive was the last F1 game I really enjoyed. Oh, F1 Career Challenge on the GameCube was pretty good too. The only Codemasters F1 I enjoyed was F1 09 on the Wii. The sport itself is kind of boring, also you can't see the track ahead properly because you're too low in the cockpit. I'd really like to see Super Monaco GP updated on modern consoles. Also a modern graphicsl update of the original game.

Complaining about unrealistic F1 game when most people will never drive an F1 car is weird. Also, I never player F1 games, I bought F1 24 and I'm having fun, I don't get the hate. I don't get the spoiled new generations complaining about every little detail. It's a game, it is supposed to be fun. Have fun. If you don't have fun play another game.
