Did u pin your cloth to the plane? I forgot how to get that crinkled look at the pin point
@PhilFlock5 күн бұрын
@@imvisuals215 I've made a icosphere as a collision object. Tracked that to the plane. So I have a little bit of rounded collision for the cloth
@imvisuals2155 күн бұрын
@ smart!!!! I was thinking about using the video in wonder to create the armature and retarget and use the character mesh as a holdout. I’m testing this for simulation interactions with 2D. In theory it will work.
@PhilFlock5 күн бұрын
@imvisuals215 yeah. Depending on how exact it has to be it might be the better solution. In my case I just needed a little bit of distortion in the cape. It probably would have worked without it too. Little details go a long way tho
@imvisuals2155 күн бұрын
@@PhilFlock Absolutely ur way is fast and effective. I was just saying my long way of trying it for some sims. For this that’s definitely a more logical workflow. I know imma fan fam! We still need a collab. And u should do a course to.

Impressive content, Phil Flock. Looking forward to your next upload from you. I crushed the thumbs up button on your video. Keep up the fantastic work! Your insights on camera positioning and lighting were incredibly helpful. How do you think the choice of different lighting setups can affect the realism of green screen scenes in varying environments?
@PhilFlock6 күн бұрын
I mentioned it in the video. But I could go more into detail. The closer you get to match cg and real lights the better. People like to overlook it because it's not easy. But it's worth to spend time and equipment on it

Thank you for tips. I guess there is a common problem about rendering to realistic fire. There are many tutorial about fire but all is presenting fire with black backround. So there are still waiting something to breakdown using in footage both in day and night
@nostra_17 күн бұрын
Good tips. Did my last music video in Blender with a green screen and especially that tip about hiding the feet is a great one. If you track the plane to the camera you can get away with a lot of camera moves if you don't see the feet. Do you use any special material setup for your footage?
@PhilFlock7 күн бұрын
Not really. It'd just a regular principled bsdf or a emissive shader. And I use rgb curves to control and adjust the colors
@nostra_17 күн бұрын
@PhilFlock I use one I saw someone else setup, but have to look up again what that one had. Now use that one as standard so haven't looked at it for a while.

@No1.Husbando lots of things just describe similar things. Like matte paintings. For some it's the same thing like set extensions. Others just describe it as matte paintings. Even though especially these days they're rarely paintings anymore. Rather 3D scenes or photobashings. 😅

Davinci Fusion is really great and underrated as a compositor!
@PhilFlock12 күн бұрын
@@orcanimal it's still very new to me but it's starting to grow on me
@orcanimal12 күн бұрын
@@PhilFlock It's really great. It's capable of like 80% of what Nuke does, which is more than enough for 99% of projects honestly. By the way, you should really switch to rendering as EXR files instead of PNG. EXR is smaller files but higher quality (it's industry standard) and A LOT more range for color grading. The only "downside" is that you then have to change the color space/use a special EXR LUT in Davinci to see the colors correctly, because EXR saves everything in linear gamma so it looks messed up before you throw on a LUT/CStransform.
@PhilFlock12 күн бұрын
@@orcanimal yes. I do that. But for beginner tutorials it's too much of an extra step. I don't want to overwhelm anyone. Step by step. We will get there
