This is the first video that I actually really understand what I am doing after watching multiple videos. Thank you I have finally made one that actually works AND I know now how it works too!

Similar to the Paparolo's "asubio", I guess the tabs are the same... Great videos! I'm glad I found your lessons!

When you complete the mouthpiece and lip, how would you adjust the pitch if it didn't land right on C?

I couldn’t make the mouth piece, but I did make a new instrument. I put a bassoon double reed at what would be the mouth piece. It sounds like a kazoo, but with a lot more versatility.

Labium is Latin for lip, so "labium lip" is redundant.

Thank you! I'm a flute player and also a tin whistle player. I picked up an ocarina on an impulse at GenCon this year (2023) and I've always been curious how the pitches are achieved. Hopefully this will partially solve that mystery!

Chris, what does "in the key of X " really mean? It plays natural notes beginning at this note or it has the notes of this scale?

I am trying to make my own Peruvian whistle vessel. For that to work, I first have to be able to make an ocarina. I've tried and failed, but now I know what to avoid. Thanks to you, I will be able to create a fantastic Peruvian whistle vessel that will make me and my guests happy for many years.
