one question though, if the pg defender rushes to the wing receiver, that would mean the baseline is still covered. do you reset the play by bringing the ball back to the pg, have the 4th player switch to reset the play on the other side?
@jaimecarreon3402Ай бұрын
So usually the ball get moved before the defense gets to recover.
@bryanMangabang2 ай бұрын
this makes more sense than having a high post receiving the ball first from the pg setting up in the middle. you will just compress the defense for 3 pt shots which is recoverable. unlike this play where it starts to collapse and you will have plenty of options

Great job! I’m trying to run some concepts with my ymca team of 16-17-year olds. Chin series with a few simplifications is my game plan. Hardest part is going to be to simplify things. I’m used to working with NBA players.

How do you feel about option #2 off this set instead entering directly to the high post as a variation
@jaimecarreon34024 ай бұрын
Yes you can go to the high post first. A lot of times the high post with find the player in the short corner cutting to the hoop

Which one of the 3 plays you have has provided the most success against a zone. 1-3-1, 1-4 or cross?
@jaimecarreon34024 ай бұрын
I don’t run cross against a zone. I only run the 1-3-1 against a 2-3 zone.

I'm trying out this play Saturday. It like the dribble handoff part of the play very similar to "cross". I'm going to practice it today on a continuous motion to try to get ball movement and practice the dribble handoff. Ty for your videos

Do you run this against Zone or man?
@jaimecarreon34024 ай бұрын
Only against a man defense for this one

These have/and continue to work super well! I coach 6th grade boys and at the beginning of the season none of the plays I taught seemed to make sense. I taught them this and we immediately went on a 3 game win streak. Thanks for posting these.

I've been using this for over a decade. I hear coaches during games yelling at their kids, "nothing in the middle!" then saying, "how is she getting in there?", or "how are they so wide open?" to their assistants after it works. One difference I made was this. The screener can get galled for a moving screen(yes, it has happened to me), so I have that player call for the ball to show the refs that she is "posting up".
