I dunno man. I’m not a fan of that soft shackle instead of the carabiner. I have a few wings with soft shackles instead of maillons and reserve connections, but carabiners for riser connections I prefer.

Incredible landings!! I understand about adding energy, via speedbar or 90° turn, but tell me, do you also take a wrap to flare all that energy out, or do you have enough range in the brakes to not need? Either way, very very impressive!

Awesome montage. Would be pretty interesting to see a compilation of these landings aswell. During landing you always use the speedbar and rear risers to do minor corrections? I'm training flare landings and at the moment I'm only doing energic 90° turns and use that energy to do the final glide close to the ground. Mind that I currently fly a Base 2. Do you have any suggestions?

This is an EXPERT LEVEL skill. He makes it look easy, but the result of slightly messing up the timing or bank could be a high energy collision with the ground. Be conservative and fly well within your skill level. Live to fly another day!

Hi this is the setup I'm considering, I'm really interested in a comparison of the 2 harnesses (Ozone F*Race and skywalk range x-alps2) with this wing, if you could tell me what you think. Or a comparison of the two harnesses would be great, thanks.

Hi Maurice! Excelent description, as always. I would like to know how do you find the climbing ability and floating capability at 89kg, in weak conditions. If it is not really impaired at that weight loading, I will use it in bivouac flight in the Alps. Otherwise I will use the MS, altough I prefer to fly gliders near the top weight and with the MS I will fly around 6-7kg below max. Thanks!
@mauricekoller
@mauricekoller 3 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on how much you fly biouvac. In my opinion 89kg is still ok since the Alpina 4 climbs incredibly well but i probably wouldn't go above 90kg. The MS close to 90 is probably also a good choice but i guess you'll also do non-biouvac flihgts where you'd be loaded lower than that and will lose some agility and fun. My choice would be the S if you do less than 70% biouvac, I don't think you'll bomb out because of the wingload with the A4
@mauricekoller

Ah, and regarding float, I've always found it to be best close, at or slightly above the top, same with the Zeolite ;)

@@mauricekoller thanks! You really understood the problem! The Alpina will be for bivouac, hike and fly, and travelling. For serious XC, I already have an M7 MS. Thanks once again and congratulations, your opinions and reports are very complete and useful.

So flying the S below the top works OK?
@mauricekoller
@mauricekoller 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, I would always advise flying close to the top (80kg+ for the S size) but the Alpina 4 does still perform very good at 74kg especially compared to other wings, which don't even let you enter a strong thermal anymore at that takeoffweight. If it was bad I would take ballast but it isnt 😉 I still wouldn't go any lower than that, after all there is an XS one then 😀

Hey, being skinny, tall and having a sensible back, I haven't really found a light harness I'm really happy with yet, the only harness I can comfortably fly for hours is my 9kg Exoceat 😂 Can't really tell if the F*Race or RXA is besser I think that depends heavily on personal preference / build, they are both cool products✌🏼

@mauricekoller 3 жыл бұрын
@davidalhoff7190
@davidalhoff7190 3 жыл бұрын
