Why did you not choose a propane hot water heater? Isn’t it the goal to save money heating your floors?

For those looking for more cost of operation info. I live in Michigan (northern lower peninsula) have 30’x40’ w/14’ wall shop. Use a 50 gallon electric heater wired same as his, filled with distilled water on a closed system. I used 1/2” pex spaced 12” apart. 4” slab, 2” high pressure rigid foam board under slab and up the side of the slab. Roof deck has 2” rigid foam capped w/2” of closed cell spray foam. Walls are 1.5” rigid foam with all seems sprayed when roof was done to seal leaks and R19 batts over that. No windows, single insulated 12’x16’ overhead door and one insulated man door. I keep the shop at 55 degrees and my electric bill is usually $150-$200 per month. The winters have been milder than usual since completing the system so I could see that going up to the mid $250 range on a harsh winter.

"electric hot water heater" Lmao why do people think they are saving money going with the most costly (in near all places) method of heating water....
@AllisonCustoms19 күн бұрын
“saving money” as compared to what?
@mattlane228219 күн бұрын
@@AllisonCustoms Saved money with getting a used electric hot water heater vs buying anything but that... I'm in the NE... electric at 100% efficiency (so hot water heater) is about 7600$ per 100m BTU Oil over current market price at 70% efficiency on the, lets say hot water heater is... 3100$ per 100M btu What money was saved getting and plumbing in a electric hot water heater unless again your power costs are low compared to other fuel methods... But really restive heating is the worse way to make heat around. Again my area... Picked up a oil fired hot water heater... $75 lol.

30 x 30 shop. 3 loops of 300 feet each of 1/2 “ pex. I made the mistake of using a 26 gallon electric hot water heater. The volume wasn’t enough for the hot water heater to recover and reheat the circulating water. I was pumping 60* water out of the heater which caused the hot water heater to run continuously. OUCH. ELECTRIC BILL! I replaced the 26 gallon electric water heater with a 40 gallon gas water heater. Problem solved.😢

for the rear, is the pre-load spacer or the shock extenders what gives it height? or both? that spacer is so small.
@AllisonCustomsАй бұрын
Yes, the rear is only up a small amount. The front gets brought up to level including the small rear lift. The shock spacers just make the factory shocks work with the small lift. Thanks for the question and for watching!
@johnrsmithsonАй бұрын
@@AllisonCustoms Thanks! So no actual lift from those shock spacers? Just that 3/16” pre-load is what gives it a lift? Must be less than a half inch lift even with the geometry right?

When I got my 55 it was an abandoned project with a lot of never used panels. What was left of the original outer rockers was enough to mount the doors and set the gaps. All the bracing was removed the two piece replacement floor pans were installed horribly without the bracing. I was able to install the new outers and use them as a reference for the bracing and floor pans. I used everything that came with the car even the pans that were welded in just cut all the bad welds and cleaned them up. A new one piece floor would of been easier but where's the fun in that. The gaps are tight but even so they look good.

Why use shark bite fittings when you can just use crimp fittings??
@AllisonCustomsАй бұрын
Only because I have changed up the system three times since the original. I actually have a new video on it coming out soon- to explain the most recent changes. If I ever “complete” the system, crimps will be my fittings of choice.

you used wrong collets and hence the vibration of the bits. I think you use the collet from the rotary tool with the three teeth at tip of the flexible shaft and not the regular collet which should hold the flex to the tool.

What modifications did you make to the rocker to get it to fit into the cowl area and the rear quarter area? I just repaired the cowl area and I don't want to cut it apart to get the new outer rocker on there.
@AllisonCustoms3 ай бұрын
The outer rocker welds to the A-pillar, so no mods to the cowl were required. The tubing fits inside the rocker very nicely and only goes up inside the A-pillar a short ways. I hope that answers your question.??? Thanks for watching.

Nice job on the video. I welded up a stand for my Jet BPB-1650 similar to the Woodward Boss stand, but flipped the lower angle steel pieces between the ends... that creates a tray to insert a plywood shelf, and the upward-facing leg of that angle steel act as a tray edge similar to the poster's drop-in tray. The tray holds ready rolls of 020, 025, and 032 plus a scrap box to get shims and other quick stuff out for my airplane project. FWIW, the Boss looks to be a great deal, with even more beef than the Jet and a welded stand versus the sheet metal standard factory stand that really does not work all that well.
@AllisonCustoms3 ай бұрын
I do like the beef of it, but I have had several problems with the threaded rod that is supposed to give you a repeatable bend guide. One of these days I will have to work that system over. But for now it does what I need most of the time!

I've Installed a rough country 2.5 inch lift kit on my 2015 jgc and l've found with the drivers side front that when I have it on jack stands that the wheel seems to bind up and not rotate like the passenger side does. It turns maybe an 1/8th of a turn then locks up on the drivers side. When it is on the ground it rolls ok 🤷♂️ but yeah passenger side was a breeze to install but drivers side was twice as long.
