I Bought a 4 Post Car Lift on Amazon! Was it worth it?

I bought the exact same lift off Amazon (under Aplus brand) 10/13/23. Had the same head scratchers you did. My ramps are steel, heavy and cumbersome, would have paid more for aluminum ramps or ramps that pivot out of the way.

Thanks for sharing! Oddly, the first lift I bought actually had better instructions. Same brand and part number, but I don’t know if it is the same reseller.

For fluid I’ve always used and seen ATF for fluid used. The dealership I worked at had Rotory lifts and they required ATF DEXTRON

I did find in my older version’s instructions that ATF Dextron or Light Hydraulic Fluid are acceptable. Thanks for the info though, I think you are dead on.

@@AllisonCustoms As long as you use the same fluid if adding you should be fine. I would mark the revisor with the type of hydraulic fluid you used.

I’m not sure what you are asking. If you are asking about the up locks, they are a physical lever.

I set my 4-poster up first, ran it up/down a few time to ensure it was perfect, then bolted it down. I can only assume he's doing the same. If he doesn't it will get ugly. Mine uses a hydraulic ram mounted on a beam on top and sliding ramps. I'm not a big fan of cables going through the ramps. Mine uses a fat chain.

No, I think if you were driving on and off, it would be a good idea, just so it wouldn’t slide as the tires first started on to the ramps. The way I’m using it, pulling vehicles on with a winch, it hasn’t been necessary.

@@AllisonCustoms bolts are inexpensive and take less than an hour to install. This still makes no sense. I can tell you for certain if anything happens and you try to make an insurance claim, the lack of mounting bolts will result in an immediate rejection of the claim.

If they intended the lift to be bolted to the floor anchor bolts would have been included instead of wheels.

Most of the price increases are NOT justified. Companies are making record profits because material cost have went back down BUT they are still pricing thing like their cost are and still hitting us with their same margin making more money. Most of us are just too ignorant and keep on paying it.
