All you need to beat this game is to stock up on potions and open the inventory mid fight all the time. Such a crappy game design, it's beyond cheesy. It's not even a fight, it's a comedy

I feel like you can chalk those kill moves up to "the insta-kill giveth and the insta-kill taketh away" on lower difficulty settings, but legendary really makes that mechanic feel out of place. At a certain point I'd rather give up my own insta-kills if it means I don't get done like a dog with a rubber chicken. "Make the numbers bigger" is the laziest form of difficulty scaling, it would have been nice if they had figured out something a bit more creative. Like instead of making an iron sword do a million damage, maybe scale up the gear enemy humanoids use and instead of making jobber dragons tanks they could have spawned advanced types like blood dragons and ancient dragons at lower levels. I guess legendary was tacked on years after the game came out so I can only reasonably expect so much. Still, the issues with legendary are an extention of the issues with the difficulty settings as a whole- they all just make enemy numbers bigger and your numbers smaller. Idk, does anyone actually like this style of difficulty scaling? Is there anyone who would rather it be this way? I'm curious.

The most annoying thing about killcams isn’t that they kill you, it’s that if you had been hit normally you probably would have survived. There is some sort of health threshold where if the 150% of the damage dealt would surpass your total health and the attack triggers nearby you get pulled into a killcam automatically or something like that.

One idea i have for the instant killcam issue (on lower lvls ir higher difficulties) is to make it so that it only has a chance to show a killcam if your health already reaches 0 and your enemy attacks again Another it to include a (special) killcam attempt screen (in place of the regular instant killcam) where the player can still move, block, or attack and they can still avoid the killmove and cause it to fail (the range for this (special) killcam would be adjusted so that it doesn't reach too far tho when being initiated) (of course if the the player fails to evade the hit, then the killcam is successful) i have some other kinda much more complex ideas for the killcam, but i think one of those is kinda used in a mod (health(+stamina) being below a certain percent in order to do a killcam) but yeah, as other comments point out, an in-game solution in vanilla skyrim is to either not get hit in range of the instant killcam or make sure that your raw health alone is enough to survive a single hit that could otherwise kill you (even despite armor) since the killcam only activates if your health is low enough to be one-shot without armor (mods are also a potential option if they are available to you)

Well your first mistake is only using 1 weapon. Dual wield with heavy swings take everything down with ease. Alternatively you could use a bow and arrows or offensive spells in this situation because the dragon literally can't hit you outside of his frost breath

Just yesterday I also battled a Frost Dragon at Winterhold (Survival mode, Expert difficulty, level 30 or so). The damn thing landed on the top of the building and wouldn't come down, so I went in to the Hall of Attainment, ran up the stairs and came out on the roof. The game of course makes an autosave at the point when I come out of the bulding, so every time I reloaded, the thing was right in front of me with its mouth open. It smacked me on the floor, froze me to death upright, threw me over the wall like a volleyball, etc. I was determined that I'm not going to go back to an earlier save file, I'm gonna defeat the thing where I am. I don't remember how many tries it took, but I managed it in the end.

Even if I was doing a vanilla run with no mods, I'd still download the mod that removes these executes. There's just no reason for the game to have a "You die now" button.
