My IDrive is toast, and OBD2 is unresponsive, bought it that way for dirt cheap, is there a way to check oil if i cant do it digitally?

My old radio had issues ejecting CDs. I got a new one but when I put it in it has no sound but powers on. I tried another one and did the same thing. THe forum says it needs a code. The radio is not asking for a code. How do I get it to display "enter code"? Once I get to that, how do I get a code to use?

On 4.3 there's no need to take wheel off or fender liner. Just did this in a gravel driveway with plastic ramps from autozone. It's about a 30 to 40 minute job. Take battery cable off, take 2 13mm starter bolts out, pull starter and twist so you can get to 8mm and 13mm nuts for wires and remove and replace in reverse. Easiest starter I've ever replaced. Oh, and the blue plug, you'll need to get a flat head screwdriver behind the black end of it and gently pop it up and out it will come.

You don't have to remove all those car parts to get to the sensor. You don't want to use the BLACK o-ring. You have to use the LIME GREEN o-ring that is designed to tolerate higher temperatures. There is a reason the existing o-ring is LIME GREEN. DO NOT use the Black o-ring as it will not tolerate the extreme hot temperature of the coolant .

It's a complete mystery to me on how to simply turn the plastic end cap to open the headlight housing. It doesn't move...it's as if it's glued closed. One of the plastic fins broke off while I was trying to get it turn. (and to be sure, I was turning it left -towards the driver side).

When I had to do the crankshaft position sensor on my truck I realized how much of a B it would be to get the starter all the way out. Luckily you only have to unbolt and push the starter out of the way for the sensor. But my truck is high mileage so when that starter goes I know it’s gonna be a pain to replace. Thanks for the video tho. Idk if those are trans cooler lines or what running next to the starter but damaging them is my biggest fear because it’s tight in there

This may indeed cause some difference in part throttle shift points, because it pertains to the throttle position adaptive reset. This is a rather well known procedure that was originally published by BMW, with a few modification's to the above technique. The procedure was used for resetting the throttle position orientation after coming out of limp mode. Limp mode can be triggered by a host of mechanical problems, but also with something as simple as a low battery, which will affect communication with the DME. After repairing/ replacing the suspect component, and registering new battery, and clearing the DTC, then the procedure is as follows. Place key in ignition. With no pedal depressed push start until ignition mode. Position 2 with engine not started. Depress the accelerator pedal for 30-60 seconds (more wont affect this). With pedal still depressed, turn ignition off, release pedal, and wait for 3 minutes. During this time you will hear a faint mechanical buzzing. Start the vehicle normally and drive. During the first start stop sequence and possibly the second, some people will see a AWD error message. If so, pull over, and stop the engine. If you have one, then it's okay to clear any codes with a scanner (ignition on), before continuing to drive. This may never occur, but if so, rarely does more than twice after the reset. Many times the AWD or 4x4 message will simply go out after restarting. I was told that after the throttle adaptation reset, the vehicles equipped with AWD will want to see the transfer case actuator perform a full sweep, before calibrating. This may be achieved by simply driving. Thus the word "adaptive". As another viewer mentioned, this procedure will not affect the transmission shift parameters, but the noticeable difference will be a result of the relative throttle position. I just put the pressure gauge in between the hoses with a T fitting. Then I put a turn valve after that to turn the fluid on or off just in case the cap for the brake reservoir leaks
