The level of grinding noise and vibration must have been impossible to not notice. You really have to try to be ignorant for it to be this bad

No kidding. It looks like the caliper completely stopped working as it was pissing fluid and piston held on by the dust boot. Crazy

How does it not make a crazy noise and shudder when your pads are clamping agains the cooling fins?

I’m pretty sure that caliper completely stopped all together. It was fully depressed, pissing brake fluid and the only thing holding the piston in was the boot cover.

I guess when the rotor is halved, the pad falls out. Wonder how many miles of grinding it took to get to that point, my guess is 5,000.

Dear god... the neglect people do to their cars. I mean how the hell do you not realize your brakes are bad before they get demolished? This is why I keep my space from cars and I hate when people ride my ass. The bad thing is this is not as rare as I wish it was.

Haha no kidding. He probably drove at-least 1k miles before getting to this point. Funny thing is that in a 1.5 hour time span of this repair, two others drove by with grinding brakes.

@@GearHeadGalore333 I'm no mechanic, I do the repairs I can at home. There is a lot I don't know. I just know when I'm driving with my three girls in the back all 5 and under I get anxious when I hear that grinding. Brakes and tires are the most important to me because I need to be able to stop.
