I remember your older dragon videos and I'm fascinated how it's turned to a robotics business

Such graceful, fluid & organic movements, almost anyone can make art, not many can make that art convincingly come to life! 👍👻

Could you do a video on the eye mechanism I can't find one anywhere and I'm trying to do that on the animal whose eyes aren't forward
@TheFurryАй бұрын
We talked before briefly about you getting a job offer and about the industry, I forgot what video the comment thread was on. I am deep into my own project now and thought I'd come back to say that the mechanisms are the easy part. The programming is suffering! I'm working on a costume which has digital eyes that move based on internal camera tracking. Let me just say that it sucks making everything work well together haha

What materials do you guys make this animatronic knight.
@CatalystEng4 ай бұрын
The internal structure is probably 75% 7075-T6 aluminum, 10% 6061-T6 Aluminum, 10% 4140 Steel, 5% 17-4 PH Stainless Steel. Aluminum is anodized type II, Steel is Zinc Plated, Stainless is passivated.

Looks amazing! Was this for internal product development or for a specific customer? Reminds me a bit of old school Diablo and Skyrim mixed together! Very well done, you guys!

Internal product development, probably have to throw in Assassins Creed into that mix as well. Thanks!

Yooooo! This channel's back! Never thought it would be! :D I still remember that dragon, way back when! As much as I love and appreciate this build here, I really gotta ask - How's Kronos doing? Also are you an actual company now? 👀
@CatalystEng4 ай бұрын
Kronos will be getting attention soon! He has been sitting on my desk staring at me wondering why I haven't finished him yet. Yes, actual company now! Small but mighty!
@halogameking4 ай бұрын
how much did it cost in material?
@CatalystEng4 ай бұрын
about $8,500 in total part cost. After building it, realized lots of ways to optimize so part cost can come down.
@Etrehumain1234 ай бұрын
I can build that but if would take me 100 prototypes because I would fail at absolutly every details. I have no idea how much time and work it represents but this sounds like a month of work to me ahahah, well done !

I am looking to learn about this type of character creation, is there a way I can contact you to ask a bit of advice? It'd be really helpful!
Yes, it's been a very busy 3 years and I'm now getting back to finishing this guy!

Hey Brian! I’m a student at ISU and working with the Kinematica Club. We are designing a walking Oryctodromeus dinosaur and are struggling with the neck movement and love the design you’ve used for the dragon. If you are still active, we would love to ask you a few questions and get some advice.

Even though this little fella is still in development. (at least in this video) it's somehow actually very expressive, and it's head is a big step-up compared to Kronos II. (and when compared to the biggest walking robot dragon, which is at least a decade old. you can definitely tell that Kronos III benefits a lot from technological advancements. especially 3D printing. if a part breaks, just grab the 3D model file and re-print away)
@rickywalters7717 Жыл бұрын
Me again! Still very much quite interested in this after 2 years total, has there been any more breakthroughs, if I may inquire?
