Thank you so much for this David. I have been a faithful subscriber since the beginning. I even checked periodically when you left and only did your podcast on that apple platform, I never could get access to it by the way. One of the many things I learned from you was "painting with light" it has turned my process around. I usually do music videos but now I am doing more passion projects. I have signed up, thank you for this opportunity. Please keep creating and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, PS I don't know what to say about Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Boxing Day (it's on Dec 26) but if you celebrate those then Happy Day??

Question I'm shooting a boxing scene in a muay thai school in a few weeks. We are thinking about the lightning at this moment but there are no windows in the building. Also the lightning that is a availble at the box school are very typical rows of fluorescent light. (Side node we are 2 students with no real budget or studio lights available.
@atdavidlee16 күн бұрын
Hey I believe you might have forgotten to ask your specific question but depending on your coverage for any type of close up I’d have your regular lighting ready (Key, Edge, etc) and for the wides I would shoot it as is unless you can rig lights overhead.

Is this parfocal like the dzo catto 18-35 ? Why not go with the dzo 18-35 catto ?
@atdavidlee26 күн бұрын
It is not parfocal like the Catto. Different characteristics of the lenses and if you have other Sigma Lenses you might want them to match them closer
@creativegreatsvisuals25 күн бұрын
@ if using full frame PL mount sigma cine will the 50-100 version of this match ? The 50-100 cine PL is super 35 so how do you adapt the Full frame sigma cine to these super 35 sigma cine ones when trying to match ?

Great video man! Just found you and I love the neutral, unbiased approach. One really interesting thing that I don’t really hear anybody talking about with these lenses and how we use them on my crew is for visualization. We shoot on the Atlas Mercuries a lot. And although I’ll continue to rent the mercuries for a lot of jobs. Having a cheap 1.5X set that we can have when scouting/pre vis is SOOOOO helpful. And will more than pay for themselves by not having to pay an extra 2-3 days rental rate on the mercuries in order to have them for scouting days. Literally, this full set pays for itself by saving just 4 rental days on our mercury set. No brainer.

I wouldn't have bought an fx6 because of its audio. The NDs are great, but just doesn't overcome its audio deficiencies.
@ResizeFilms2 ай бұрын
If I could ask only one upgrade for the next generation of the FX6, it would be in body audio connectivity. At the very least a 3.5mm Jack. It’s really necessary. Even the FX3, which is much more compact, have XLR inputs in its handle and an additional 3.5mm audio Jack in the body itself. There’s no reason for the FX6 having no audio inputs in-body. Really looking forward for Sony to launch the next FX6 just because of the audio limitations.

Thank you for the silver flare examples in particular. I've had the A set from preorder times in blue, liked them so much I got a 65mm amber too, and have just ordered the B set + 33mm in silver. I was really on the fence between amber and silver, and your examples helped a lot. Some clients don't want blue, some don't want amber, so hopefully this will cover all bases... I use the Remus a lot on a 3:2 sensor and or me this accentuates their character, along with change in field of view. Highly recommended 👍

You need the XDCA unit to record ProRes RAW and a Atomos Recorder as well. I’m Not sure which firmware they added but you can go to Sonys website for that info

I gave DeHancer a try when the Window's version first came out. i stopped using it, probably because I was impatient with the learning curve and I fully didn't understand what it is for.
