It seems to me that the exercises/rituals practiced by the Golden Dawn are the best way to assimilate this kind of knowledge into ones life and to move beyond a purely academic exercise which in itself is of very little value. People who originally produced this kind of literature wanted its practical benefits to be realized in their lives. In that sense they were men of action.

I love this type of literature yet I dont see much in terms of practical value. Perhaps it is taking me closer to some ultimate hidden truths, perhaps its not. After a lifetime of searching I feel that only death will reveal all the secrets of this life. Nothing in this life comes close to making love to a beautiful woman for days on end.

I can understand their argument. One should naturally come to their wisdom to negate the false wisdoms one may precieve through schooling. Wisdom comes from experience and knowledge. With schooling comes the ability to regergitate material as well as knowledge, phylosophy is required for these individuals to begin forming wisdom.

As a catholic, i can find fault in agrippas full view, yet i am compelled to comment that an imbalance in scholasticism and the essential active living faith does lead to defects. I studied Roman History during my school days and I was taught that the Romans were allowed to wear certain colours according to their social and political rank.
