Always love your videos Carly and that work was amazing. Feminism has had a huge contribution to design. Fluidity in any kind of art or design has primarily been a result of appreciating the female form. Whereas brutalism whether functional or not, can never make people feel as good and special while using things. I believe anything that’s aesthetically pleasing has deep roots in feminism.

This was an enjoyable video. I liked to see the different aspects of your life: working for your mentor (that horse in the clouds painting was amazing), your workouts and of course your painting. I like your thoughts about women. Lots of people think women can be catty towards one another but in general there are so many women I admire. Thanks for reminding us that women are amazing. ❤ You have a lot of discipline and I admire that. It will serve you well in Italy. I know you will do fantastic in your studies. Lovely painting, as always. Thank you for sharing! It was interesting that you mentioned abstraction. I just received the quarterly newsletter from our small local art museum and their new exhibition is abstraction. Personally I've never "got" abstract paintings. They just don't make sense to me. As I've said often before, there's probably a reason why I happily spent 40 years as a computer programmer. 😊 Best of luck with yours!

There has been a lot of abstract artworks that I look at, and just simply do not understand but every now and then they will be one that is just filled with so much emotion and movement, balance and harmony within the composition and makes me feel Something huge. Only the best abstract works can do that 😊🤍

Well they’re never really done haha. I could have kept working and re working this artwork but it’s done when it reaches a point of ‘rightness’ in my opinion

Aren't originals supposed to be a unique piece of an artist or you can keep reproducing them. So which is the original? Am genuinely confused

Making it in the creative world is hard enough. I know from experience. If you as an artist can make a guaranteed say 5000 ? Or whatever she charges, to make another version of a previous painting for another customer than go for it. We as creatives don’t have the luxury of being precious about our works.
