Thanks for the info! The other thing I've found with these is that even those clearly labelled HMC are actually QMC chips. If you use the QMC with the HMC library in arduino at least, you often see static values reported and gross errors.

I'm having a problem. The movement buttons doesn't work. The phone vibrates when I click the buttons but there is no command in the notification window and my robot isn't moving. Please help

I'm having a problem with the app itself. The control for movement like forward, reverse, left, and right are not working. The other buttons such as connect bt and disconnect works just fine. I hope someone can help

i am not able to see any output in serial monitor when i upload HMC5883L_calibrate file. can you help me with this. Zip folder also not shown in examples. i got this Could not find a valid HMC5883L sensor, check wiring!.

May be late now, but for posterity still. About the custom library not found in examples, search for the name of the example he used "HMC5883l calibrate" in your system files. You'll see the file in the .ino format, an executable script. Launch it from there and it opens the Arduino IDE with the entire code inside. About not seeing any output, I didn't see too, but somebody in the comment says you should just use the offset he used for his main code...ie, copy his main code that way after calibrating your compass manually. If you have tangible information, I could use some help.

@@PhamucDuy-go6vj no sir actually i calibrated the compass, installed the apk file provided in the folder, my car is moving on the same place only even tried in the open place. when i set the waypoints and go to waypoints. what things need to change in the code can you suggest

Can you run the calibration and the compass programs at the same time so that you can pass the calibration offsets as parameters to the compass program instead of hard coding them in?

Hello, Nice video, but there is an issue with me , compass settings is not been shown, How to install the i2cdev in Arduino uno it is showing error while installing the i2cdev in ide , In the app notification windows noting is been showed up after Pressing Set heading , Please give solution to this

You really can't use the arduino uno. You really need need to use the mega; otherwise, the wiring and programming would need to be modified.

With same , I only removed the ping sensor , rest all are same , without I2C can I do ? Is wire.h is sufficient, If I press the button "Forward" or "Reverse" in the app will the car going to move ?, In my case the car is not moving, mega has been used

Good morning, my name is Nikos and I am writing to you from Greece , I would like to thanks first of all for your work and for sharing it with us and, , it is about converting the gps signal into a servo signal, and basically I'm interested in the locking of the coordinates at the activation point and the servo always pointing to the point where the coordinates are locked. this is a about fishing bait boat construction,,where the boat will return to the activation point,,I've already made it using an arducopter = kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKbUg3tuephog6M but the arducopter it has many functions that i don't need and it is also quite a bit more expensive,,while I only need the function, of the return to the starting point. I quite understand arduino codes but I'm not that experienced ,,and I saw your project which looks very interesting,, Does it have the schedule that uses order for a return to the activation poind ? or do You have something else to suggest ?? thank you in advance .

Good catch. I was curious why my fine angle knippers were struggling and had to be re-sharpened, when I tried to clip the excess from some headers. So.... #1 buy good solid brass headers, #2 do not use the headers that come with your cheap sensors, #3 if in doubt - use the magnet. Check any wire terminal ends too. I just checkes some of mine after this video, and turns out my wire connect terminals were ferrous also. My mistake, I have the super-awesome molex brand, but just used a cheap cable in my box of stuff. Steel header pins is Japan's "thank you" back to the USA for dropping the bomb.

I'm very impressed with this device and I too had this same idea and have been compiling information before I attempt to build my rendering of a similar droid. But I am interested in conversating with the creator of this one about some of the ideas I would like to do before doing so and potentially avoiding dozens of pitfalls that may have previously been encountered because I am impressed by the creators effort on this device. Great idea. Can you make vehicle that move and scan field without your controls? Also can it be when it detectt metal to write right coordinate for spot where metal is?

@@giftlightbulbs6423 It certainly is a possibility, my idea is to one day use it on the beach. Because there are usually people on the beach I wouldn't be able to leave it unattended and would need to have it detect smaller areas. It could just spin around and mark the area with it's tire marks. Then I could easily go back and dig up the targets will it's scanning a different area. I have since moved on to a different design altogether, this design is just too difficult for the average Joe to build. I'm hoping to simplify this over the next year.
