@ i think i started sculpting last year (it's funny cuz i don't like sculpting so all of my learning was from goofing around, it was for a commission tho) although i prefer to poly model stuff like this, more stylized, more fun imo, and versatile, normal maps are overrated
@eternalvoidofgloom18934 күн бұрын
bro I am so confused my vertices just go everywhere for Seemingly no reason and then Roblox deletes half the rig itself well that and idk if I am exporting correctly because the modifier I add just doesn't seem to lower the poly count or such
@mykaiju4 күн бұрын
might be because the rig isn't entirely weight painted, make sure everything has weight paint data, even things that could just be parented still needs weight painting
@eternalvoidofgloom18934 күн бұрын
@@mykaiju hmmm perhaps, will try that later :)

@ Messed with the weights and it seems to have not worked and I am still unsure as to why some of the bones keep dissapearing mostly the arm bones it somehow seems to be moreso the rig than anything else because if i take a mesh out of the model it goes back to normal...
@eternalvoidofgloom18934 күн бұрын
Update: i found the arm bones they for some reason went into the arm part... not too sure why
@mykaiju3 күн бұрын
@ oooh wait, if the bones are dissapearing but SOME DO appear in the rig, makes sure all objects in the rig (mesh) have a DIFFERENT NAME than the bones, so make sure there isn't a Neck1 bone and a Neck1 object, call it Neck1_Mesh, something to distinct it from the bone and it should fix the disappearing issue iirc
@Smurfis5 күн бұрын
If you create a rig and name it StarterCharacter after adding this to them, you should be able to see what it looks like on and test it prior to uploading it. Just place it in StarterPlayer (you may have to clone it to your current torso accessory meshID and then remove the rest of ur hats and do it on ur own characters rig to make it easier) Thanks for the tutorial

Hey thanks. You must've noticed the other comment I left on your other video asking how to import animations to roblox and then I went searching and found this. This was the thing that partially fixed the issue I had except the legs went haywire. I decided to not care anymore and just reanimate them since it was better than reanimating the whole thing. Definitely subbing to your channel.
@chaoticcj101212 күн бұрын
Do you animate in blender and export that animation to roblox? I've been having issues with a custom 3D model not taking an animation at all and the animation actually not wanting to import onto anything when I use a plugin called blender animations. The model works and the reason Im asking is because I don't have access to moon animator and this is the easiest way I know how to animate stuff into roblox/

When I import my rig into studio part 0 of every motor6d is always set to a part that was not originally on the rig called root? I can't animate or use the model for anything like this, anyway around it? Also a couple of my parts are being given random rotations and positions, no animation was baked or anything like that.
@mykaiju20 күн бұрын
the motor6d are supposed to be like that because, it's complicated iirc, but motor6ds work in tangent to the root part and its bones, as for the random rotations, it may be because the objects were not rigged with weight paint, try weighting those objects to the bones, make sure it's not just parenting but also weight painting

i need help pls, so i did everything u ask and it worked, but my only problem is the bone or the rig that i used in blender, even if i resize the custom character that i made, it's rig is still big and i don't know how i can rescale it

you can just rescale it in roblox if the size is all you care about, make sure correctly input in the new scale number in blender when importing the correct size

Its better to do recalculate outside because if you do flip then everything will be flipped around including the colors of your object and if you choose flip and you had any faces that werent transparent then that would flip and it would be transparent thats why if you do recalculate outside you will keep thje color and only the transparent parts will fix
@mykaiju23 күн бұрын
thats true and i forgot to mention that in the video, i generally always use recalculate outside but this is specifically for when the entire model is red, mainly cuz sometimes blender calculates things wrong and makes outside actually turn inside and that can really mess up a model if you didn't see it coming, happens to a lot of my low poly model (ik it's generally caused by a hole in the model or non-manifold but sometimes blender just acts weird). but yea you're right

try checking invert negative faces in the file geometry option when importing. if that does not work you can also try turning on double sided in the object's property to (usually for sure) take away the issue but might end up adding a bit of lag, make sure your object is 3d as well and not a plane (a hat might be red inside if it's just a 2d plane in the shape of a hat).

interesting, show me a gyazo screenshot of the model in blender and roblox and i'll see if i can help, check if theres any error in the 3D importer tab after importing the file, and if it helps, devforum.roblox.com/t/how-to-importfix-skinned-mesh-rigscustom-rigs-and-animations-from-blender-to-roblox/1628571 this was the dev forum post i look at for a lot of issues. IIRC tho when i first made skinned mesh rig with separate parts the rig went all over the place generally because of weight painting issues so make the rig has the proper weight paint on each segments

frrr, it's so conveluted sometimes, especially with the fact that everything has to be weight painted, granted roblox has advanced over the years, models, rigs, and animations are still very primitive (can't even export mesh from studio as something that isn't .obj) that being said to if you have any issues i'll try to help

thats actually so good thx, i tried it and it worked, only issue is it seems like importing the animation is bugged out because of the original like >0.2 scaling, i don't know how to fix this because when i reimport the animation at the small scaling number it still doesn't run properly, when reimporting the animation at a scale number of 1 (on the model where i reset the scale number) it looks better but still looks like theres issues as the model will start flying around everywhere. theres a plugin that changes animation scale in roblox that might be able to fix this but for now i'll follow the double model importing thing that i've been doing because i think it's simpler, if you know a fix for how to import animations after resetting the scale number in roblox tho do tell

Is there a specific version I have to use or am I doing something wrong because when I rig the model and export the model either two things happen: when I animate it in Roblox Studio by moving the bone, the mesh won't move with it, or when I import into Studio the rig's parts are rotated or moved from the original position that it was in in blender. Can you help?
@mykaijuАй бұрын
the roblox bug maybe because you have an object with the same name as the bone (name every object separate from the bone, so if theres a neck bone and a neck object, call the object something else that isn't the same name like neck_part) as for the blender issue, it might be an issue with the weight paint, this dev forum post might help you devforum.roblox.com/t/imported-blender-avatar-and-rig-ends-up-blown-apart-in-pieces/2412977/22

@mykaiju2 ай бұрын
clicked Shift + C to reset the cursor, disconnecting the bone basically makes it so the bone's head isn't attached to a tail of another bone, thats how the neck joint could be in the middle of the hinge without the torso bone connecting all the way to it, it also allows the bone to be moved around freely in pose mode
