They're both fantastic amplifiers. You can't go wrong either way. I'll likely save some bucks and get an Amplified Nation with a 2 x 12" next year.

@@suqies Yeah - they are really close for my taste. I prefer the Two Rock CRS, but dollar for dollar, I think you get more value with the AN Wonderland OD v2. I used to own a Studio Pro and they're great amps too (I went Ceriatone OTS 20->Studio Pro 35->Fuchs->AN W.O.D->Two Rock CRS over the years).
@suqies5 ай бұрын
Good amps. I played a CRS and may be in the minority but I prefer the voicing of the Pro, TC and JM sig. the studio signature and CRS are too bright vs the thick dark tones in the above. It’s by far and above the best amp I’ve plugged into… ;) yet
@dannyllerenatv86354 ай бұрын
@@bgrierofficial Two Rocks are amazing and I will definitely pull the plug on one in the near future. However, I recently went with an AN overdrive reverb/phoenix fury due to the fact that it can do high gain stuff and still remain musical while maintaining the D-style cleans we all know and love. However, make no mistake. I may very well purchase a TC or CRS in the future. They match well with just about any other amp

If it is helpful to anyone- I owned the Two Rock Bloomfield drive for four years and really had to work quite hard to get a good clean tone that resembled a Dumble . I was never able to dial in an overdrive tone that was at all good. I even sent the amp back to Mac at TR and had him tweak and tune replaced the tubes with vintage RCA black plates. Finally sold the amp and gave up. Then I bought the Amplified Nation Overdrive Reverb for less then the TR cost ( both new) and was able to get absolutely killer cleans and overdriven tones right out of the box with all knobs set at noon. Replacing the stock tubes has turned this amp into a monster Dumble tone generating machine. I have been tone chasing for over 40 years and this amp is at the top of all of them. Maybe the Bloomfield drive was a dud. I can also add that the YT videos of the Overdrive reverb do not do the amp justice. I will work to post some clips. Bottom line is the AN ate the TR’s breakfast lunch and dinner….
@CosmicNed5 ай бұрын
I had the same tone journey - really struggled with the TR Bloomfield - despite tuning it in & using NOS tubes - the overdrive was kinda 'ratty' and more 'tweed' I guess & the clean was very nice but not overly good 'under the fingers' if you get my drift- managed to snag a AN Wonderland Overdrive V2 and have not looked back - beautiful gentle tube compression on the cleans & the overdrive tone is to die for... best amp I've owned by far & as I'm now 65 years old I've literally owned & tried 'em all - trust me!

The lead tone on the AN was too attenuated compared to the two rock. This was a good comparison idea but maybe skip the attenuator to showcase the tones better.

After owning the katana for 2 1/2 years, I sold it and purchased a catalyst 100 com this amp really surprised me. It really feels like a tube amp doesn’t sound like a solid state. It has that feel that tubes can only give you. I really don’t care about how manyeffects you can add to it from the menu. I use petals anyway it all comes down to just the sound of the amp and that’s where this thing shines.

Did you happen to ask him or KNOW if he is a Christian?? I met him and got his autograph and tommy taylor and kyle brock, But it was before I myself had become a Christian. His Lyric content would allude to it, for instance the Title for Righteous. I also saw him live in 96 right after Venus Isle came out and saw him again with ALC at House of blues orlando in 2003 with Derek Trucks opening act. I did not try to make any contact with him at the House of Blues just way to crowded. Well Thank you, and hopefully you will see this Question.

Awesome man, I was also lucky enough to hang with him one time when he was playing with Mike Stern too....Super lovely guy... It was funny because I'd literally just been playing Cliffs of Dover as a note for note (ish) cover earlier that day, as I told him that he said with a cheeky grin on his face... "You probably played it better than me"😂 I'll never forget that... Of course that's impossible but it was such a humble thing for him to say and showed his utter humility... I'll also never forget that moment... ;-) 👍🙏🎸

Way back in the late 70’s to late 80’s I lived in Austin. Saw Eric many times including a few shows at Steamboat on 6th St. Pretty much avoided 6th St. unless Eric or Stevie was playing at Steamboat. Anyway, sometime in the mid-80’s I was in the Whole Earth Provision store on S. Lamar & bumped into Eric. He looked at me like he recognized me & struck up a conversation. Such a sweet guy. Now I’m the proud owner of one of his signature strats. Not that I could ever get 1% out of it that he does.
