Sweet setup! Curious, Bilstein states the 8100 bypass(or non bypass) are supposedly only capable of a 2" max lift on the 4runner. I also wanted to throw the "heavy duty" Bilstein springs on and figured I'd get closer to 3" unloaded given the length and spring rate. Any issues with extension or "topping out" these 8100 shocks at full droop or getting air? I notice these are only 23.48" long at full extension which is shorter than Icon for example. Thoughts and experience around this potential issue? About to pull the trigger on a very similar setup on my 5th gen.
@ToTheDirt
@ToTheDirt Ай бұрын
@@ben_blair no issues with topping out, but we’re not really getting any air with the truck. The rear bumper is super heavy so it still tries to squat a little bit even with the HD springs. I absolutely love this setup and highly recommend it, it’s been about a year that we’ve been running the 8100 and 8112s and I couldn’t be happier unless I was driving a trophy truck lol

Man I like your content! Very good info! Question: Have you performed a compression test on the cylinders or check if there is any play in the rotors (out of spec) since you installed the SC? I read somewhere that the needle bearings and the coupler are the weak points of these Eaton Superchargers. The other problem I read about is that the powder coating on the rotors can peel off over the time which inevitable ends up in your cylinders causing damage.

I think you made a mistake in your video. If the Magnuson supercharger is a Roots style supercharger, you cannot just simply disconnect the belt and have it bypass that air intake system to drive it home. The air wont go through the Supercharger! Big mistake! Youre not a mechanic, clearly.
