Man I like your content! Very good info! Question: Have you performed a compression test on the cylinders or check if there is any play in the rotors (out of spec) since you installed the SC? I read somewhere that the needle bearings and the coupler are the weak points of these Eaton Superchargers. The other problem I read about is that the powder coating on the rotors can peel off over the time which inevitable ends up in your cylinders causing damage.

@@balagio5980 thanks man that means a lot. I’ve been looking around to find a shop that can do a tear down and also willing to let me film to process to make a series about it. Since we were part of the testing program for Magnuson we’ve gotten direct contact with engineers/techs and send them videos of the SC and audio recordings and everything appears fine right now. I still want to do the comprehensive maintenance soon though so stay tuned! (Literally)

Does it fix the problem of 4runner hunting gears at highway speeds after putting on bigger tires, IE always downshifting and staying in lower gear instead of staying high gear when going into wind or driving 75-80.

@@Kruelty175 yeah In my experience it does. We’re running 285/17s STT pros which are heaaaaavy. That with the increased weight of the bumpers, sliders and full size spare I haven’t had any issues with gear hunting. Even pulling our travel trailer up mountains we never had any issues.

That’s show business baby! But for real, I couldn’t video the whole process cause a lot of it took both hands. I put up a screen explaining that just as an FYI. I removed the connection, sprayed it with a baking soda solution, brushed it with a firm bristle brush and put it back on. I started the truck before the skid plate was back on to make sure it all worked! Ps I spray painted the skid plate before putting it back on too.

I think you made a mistake in your video. If the Magnuson supercharger is a Roots style supercharger, you cannot just simply disconnect the belt and have it bypass that air intake system to drive it home. The air wont go through the Supercharger! Big mistake! Youre not a mechanic, clearly.
@ToTheDirt
@ToTheDirt 4 ай бұрын
Lol... I guess I didn't drive the 500 miles with it disconnected then. The magnuson has a bypass valve that allows the supercharger to idle freely.

I can really only speak from my own experience but after running the supercharger on the truck for 100,000 plus miles I haven’t had any engine issues.
