Have you had the supercharger rebuilt at any point? What an awesome video, thank you!

@@guitarguy764 I have not. Still looking for a shop that I trust to do it.

Thanks! I just got my magnuson installed at Toyonlyswaps down in Oregon, I travelled down from Canada to get this done by them and they did incredible work; they showed a ton of care and level of detail for the work done to my 4Runner. Thats why I have many questions for the long run now :)

Man I like your content! Very good info! Question: Have you performed a compression test on the cylinders or check if there is any play in the rotors (out of spec) since you installed the SC? I read somewhere that the needle bearings and the coupler are the weak points of these Eaton Superchargers. The other problem I read about is that the powder coating on the rotors can peel off over the time which inevitable ends up in your cylinders causing damage.

@@balagio5980 thanks man that means a lot. I’ve been looking around to find a shop that can do a tear down and also willing to let me film to process to make a series about it. Since we were part of the testing program for Magnuson we’ve gotten direct contact with engineers/techs and send them videos of the SC and audio recordings and everything appears fine right now. I still want to do the comprehensive maintenance soon though so stay tuned! (Literally)

Like the Vans👍 I have those in Teal Checkerboard.

Since they're so inexpensive; might be good preventive maintenance to replace pulley's and belt every 25k miles.....or maybe 50k miles given your experience with durability
@ToTheDirt Жыл бұрын
I keep an eye on them, especially after going offroad when it’s dusty. Seems like the grit can get into the bearings. The belts last way past 50k

How good are those dayco pulleys?? I should probably do this to my 4Runner even though im not supercharged lol
@ToTheDirt Жыл бұрын
I guess they're good... although I've never had to replace the stock 4runner pulleys and I've been through a few of the Daycos.
@0naquest Жыл бұрын
when the pulley died, were you able to pull the belt off and drive it?
@ToTheDirt Жыл бұрын
Yeah so luckily it didn’t die until we were back in the driveway the day after our trip. I had something similar happen after our HUGE trip out west and on the way back at mile 6,800 the pulley exploded and completely came off the stud… That time I was able to pull the belt off the power pulley and zip tied it away from any moving parts. I also always carry wire cutters and if needed I could’ve just cut it off. I didn’t cut it off that time because the belt was fine. This last time I cut it off because it partially shredded!

So those pulleys on the supercharger go out a lot, Thinking about going with the Magnuson, on my 4Runner. I’m a concrete cowboy. Never going to go out on the dirt just want it for extra power you think I’ll have the same problems with the pulleys.
@ToTheDirt Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say the go out a lot, we put a ton of hard miles on the truck through some really dusty trails. I think you’ll be alright, but that’s just my opinion. Either way the idlers are pretty easy to change if you have an issue.
