Its easy to belittle the accomplishments of Bobby Fischer now that all these players have chess engines as coaches. Before technology, Bobby wiped the floor with everyone. Pound for pound I think Bobby is still the best player of all time adjusting for rating inflation. Magnus had computers and he was also coached by Kasparov.

Magnus has supercomputers, theory evolved and confirmed by supercomputers, and team of helpers, working for him, while Bobby achieved all that all by himself. Alone as a wolf, doing job of 20 people. Incomparable. Obviously, Carlsen was taking lessons from Kasparov, regarding honesty, decency and behavior. Also, there is an interview where Carlsen indirectly said Karpov is not quite sain. It was so disgusting to question publicly sanity of your fellows and colleagues. Is he a physiatrist? Not to mention that row was added (to questions) purely in order to insult Fischer. Fischer was the main target of that row. Disgusting. Without Bobby, USA wouldn't exist on chessmap of the world of today. Pay the respect where the respect is due.

Bobby Fischer used to speak about himself in the same terms. It sounds very arrogant, but history has born it out. 50 years from now, someone will mention Magnus as the greatest player who ever lived.
