Colin how did you get into alpinism? How long have you been climbing and how do you find all your trips? CHEERS 👍🇨🇦

1:23 Hmmm, I'm just over a minute in and I've seen not one but TWO backpacks, that strongly remind me of paragliding! Let's see if it becomes relevant later! Wouldn't be the first launch of Cerro Torre! 😉 16:16 "Snow Great Ball Hall" A cave fit for a king!🤣

Good stuff Can you share tips on how you stay warm in the cold? I loved your shout out for the Showa gloves years ago- but they are thin. How do you warm up your digits when they get cold up there?

Dang I feel creeped out by the height and steepness just watching the video. I know nothing about any kind of climbing, is it just a given that the snow on the side of a mountain is strong enough to hold an ice axe and the weight of a grown man? If one fell down would the snow really keep the rope and anchor secured? What would happen if the snow was too thin for the ice axe, could it penetrate rock? Would an expert just see that the snow will support them at a glance?

I feel like the fact that you are still alive is because of how much respect and attention you pay to potential avalanches. there are so many dead climbers on mountains who didn't. (or they just got unlucky)

A not very common attitude on mountaineering. Common sense .Great mountain, fine climb, joy in the adventure. And, the more important thing., get back home, with the beloved ones. This is the real mountainnerig Walter Bonatti dreamed and did it. Love the mountain, but over all, love life. Good man.

"Warning: contains profanity" I would be very surprised if a WINTER SOLO of anything didn't contain any 😂 Anyway, this is the kind of alpine content I love! I like seeing how experienced climbers deal with mistakes and difficult situations, it's much more interesting than some summit selfies. Thanks!

Top shelf vid here. So many youtube vids in this genre lack the ingredients this one has: normal narration not filled with a bunch of fake drama points, point A to point B linear travel with no jumping around or missing segments. Premium music by actual professionals instead of the free crap. And that Snow Cave/ Palace! Like Dr. Zhivago's summer residence. I like the skylight. I would have narrated that as intentional for a safety exit. This guy is too honest. And that ski down, among the most impressive ski descents i have seen, i kept expecting a bergshchrund to swallow this guy up. Huge balls.
