Hi terminal 50 is shaking like a loose tooth. Will this affect starter?
@TheAbJGarage4 күн бұрын
If it became loose at the point of the soldered joint, re-soldering might fix it!

Will solonoid work if the small push on pin is loose and shaking and how do i fix it terminal 50
@TheAbJGarage4 күн бұрын
It might depending on how loose it is, but it will cause increased electrical resistance on the system. Loose connections cause excessive voltage drop and might even cause arcing and overheating.
@BreeDoh-1Күн бұрын
@@TheAbJGarage its also overheating the cable and melting it.☹️

Abj, mine slides but drops back before turning the engine. What could be problem?
@TheAbJGarage4 күн бұрын
That could be caused by faulty solenoid hold in coil! Have you checked if both hold-in and pull-in coils in the solenoid switch are working fine? The hold-in and pull-in coils work together to make the starter pinion slide towards the flywheel ring gear. Once the pinion reaches there, it is the duty of the hold-in coil to keep it there until the ignition key is released.

I’m noticing a gas smell inside my discovery and turbo boost check engine code. What exactly is the issue to repair?
@TheAbJGarage4 күн бұрын
The gas smell indicates either a fuel leak or a cylinder that is misfiring or not burning properly. This could be caused by a leaky injector. The turbo boost check engine indicates that the engine is not receiving enough boost from the turbocharger.

Cummings ISX motor can the turbo charger leak, coolant, and oil at the same time… or is that something more serious like the motor?
@TheAbJGarage4 күн бұрын
Not really! Turbocharger failure might cause oil to mix with the incoming air, but as no coolant supply is connected to turbocharger, there is no way a turbo might mix coolant with oil. Coolant mix with oil is usually caused by gasket failure or crack in the engine. Have your engine been overheated lately? Overheating is the main cause of gasket failure which might lead to oil and coolant mix.

Hi, I have a vaxhaull corsa e 1.4l 2015, There is this noise it sounds like there is a bit metal that is scraping inside the engine near the clutch/camshaft, on right hand side of the engine. It sounds like it is making a noise everytime something in the engine rotates. would you have any idea what this could be ?

If you want your transmission to run longer, by reducing internal fluid friction, it is best to put it in neutral. But many people don't agree with this advice because the effect is not apparently visible.

Important caveat on the A/C, having it off and the windows up will increase fuel efficiency. The A/C engaged will draw on the belt assembly=lower fuel efficiency.

Any idea what would cause a coil to put out 12v from coil wire at all time?
@TheAbJGarage22 күн бұрын
If 12v is read at ignition coil positive terminal, that would be normal, but if coil negative is reading 12 volts all the time, then it indicates problem with the grounding circuit, it means the coil is not receiving ground. If the coil is properly grounded, as when the contact points close, it should read zero volts, when the points open, it will read battery volt at the coil negative.

I have this i4 2009 accord, it performs very well but it's a fuel guzzler, I tried using that reserve fuel and got just 27.8MPG before it went off. Note: I have changed air filters, flushed MAF sensor, changed plugs serviced nozzles and also change fuel pump & filter, currently there isn't any check engine code, am planning to change the 02 sensors, but it isn't I indicating any check engine on the dash, can anyone suggest what next to do, also so you know, am also using a ply tyres too,...
