Thank you for posting this! As a redhead I've been scared that the halo will leave more redness than it takes away. Did you notice your redness going down with time?

I just had it done a few hours ago and thought I would look online for information. Your video was the first one I found and I appreciate you so much for posting your experience. I had never had this done so I have no clue what to expect. It did hurt! Should have expected this given the topical numbing gel but thought “how bad could it be?” Yes, the fourth time over the surface gets you. I did distract myself to help me from focusing on it. You seemed to get pampered a bit more than me. And, then I had to walk out in 110 degree weather. Ug, the taxi driver picked me up and after looking at my red face he said “it’s really hot out there!” May need to get it done again but I will see how I look after a few months. Thank you for posting you and your experience.

I just had a consult this morning about HALO!! Now I’m scared. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am a redhead, too. I really love your results. I have some discoloration on my left cheek from driving and I’m tired of the remaining freckles. Thanks!

I honestly wasn't happy with their mascara at all, nor was I happy with the formula from the other redhead brand. It's great that companies are finally making mascara to match our hair color, but natural redheads have very fair, very thin lashes. We NEED extra volume, to make our lashes much thicker and therefore more visible. So if they'd make a volumizing liquid formula (similar to Monsieur Big or Better Than Sex, for example) in redhead shades, I'd not only buy it, I'd be all over SM promoting it for free. In fact, if Lancome or Too Faced added a natural copper color to their current volumizing formulas (copper being a color all natural redheads can wear), I'd be all over that too. Too Faced made a Cocoa color in Better Than Sex, which does progress, but that's still very dark on natural redheads. I honestly don't care who makes it, I just want a mascara to match my hair AND be a very high quality volumizing liquid formula.

just got this treatment done 5 days ago. i have an extremely high pain tolerance. every esthetician, surgeon, physiotherapist has attest to that.. that being said. the indescribable burn i felt. omgosh lol i’ve had other laser, co2, morpheus, bbl, chemical peels you name it..this is a whole different realm of spicy . i drove home with the ac blasting, windows slightly rolled down to get the air on my face. i could not get home fast enough. will definitely take a pain killer in advance next time. it really looks like the results are going to be amazing as of now. have another treatment booked in 7 weeks.

Redheads tend to experience pain differently and do not respond to pain medication as well as other folks. I always need extra numbing at the dentist, etc. and novocaine doesn't work for me (I respond better to septocaine).

I had the halo done in November 2022! I had a lot of swelling . I agree that they don’t saw much about the pain during it. Anything I put on my face thst first day night stung so bad . I was told to wash it but I wish I had not and just left it until the next day. The swelling last about 4 days for me. I had alot of redness for the same time. I also had alot of purging of acne which was interesting because I never struggled with acne as a teen I would get one zit a month right before my period but after the halo I had a lot of acne on my chin . I would like to get another one because I feel like I still have a lot of sun damage to get rid of and at 52 would like to boost collagen and work on anti aging. I think your review was very honest . Thank you

How “waterproof” is it? The corners of my lower lashes always transferred to my eyelid from my mascara at the end of the day so I’m always looking for a good waterproof option.

I've heard that redheads feel more intense pain, so I don't know if that is the case for you? So sorry the pain was so intense. Very little difference in skin, but your skin does GLOW, so there's that.

Honestly, I don’t see enough of a difference to make it worth the price and the pain. all that lasering destroying the fat under your skin. in a few years you look a lot older than if you hadn’t had the laser

I'm wondering if people with Red hair experience more pain because I can honestly say it wasn't bad at all for me. Numbing gel did make a difference. It only felt like a moderate sun burn. That's how I would describe it. I would say some discomfort but I wouldn't use the word painful. I do believe you though but I think some people feel more pain than others. I definitely would do it again.

I have done this as well! Same experience. Nice to know I wasn't the only one. I don't think I would do it again, though. I might try something else not as painful. You really do lose about a week of your life. Luckily when I did it, it was over Covid and I was wearing a mask anyway, lol.

Yup, had the Halo treatment for menopausal melasma. It was probably more intense than yours as my skin straight after was bleeding and very swollen. I too did not expect the pain, all the clinicians tell you it's like sunburn and that it feels like you have been slapped with an elastic band. NO WAY, it is SOOO much more painful, but hey, no pain no gain. I just wish they were more honest so you can be better prepared.

Awe, I think the fiancé misses your freckles. My Doc said “You red heads are more sensitive than the others.” So I am glad to see this review. My Fractal treatment years ago was very rough and I overdosed on the Percocet(?!) Then went to an interview looking pretty bad. I thought my recovery time would have been much shorter. Right. Didn’t get the job:(

I just had the Halo yesterday and I wish I had known how painful it was going to be. I was numbed for an hour and half before, but if I felt that much pain with being numbed, I can't imagine what it would feel like without the numbing. My face is super swollen today, and is a bit hot to the touch. I am so uncomfortable! I paid for 2 Halo's up front, total cost $2400 for both. I also took an antiviral pill for 3 days(day before, today, and tomorrow). I dread going through this again, but I'll do it. I'm going to ask her if they have laughing gas as many of you did. They told me it takes up to 5 months to see the full results.

Glad someone is talking about the pain! Lasers are concentrated light, thus literally burning off the skin, which then has to heal & thus the fresh skin! For most of us, I think it's better to do regular at home exfoliation, an occasional fruit acid peel, & call it a day.

Well you and everyone else who commented just talked me out of getting this done lmao 😂 I am not into pain at all lol and there is no way I could have a month of down time 😮I’d much rather be put out and have laser done and not feel a thing and be maybe down for a week or ten days recovering then have to go thru the pain you just went thru 😮I’m sorry it was that painful but I thank you for your honesty and letting us all know the truth ! Thank you so much ❤

Thank you so much, honestly! I just came across this review and I always thought I'm the only one struggling with the harsh contrast between my red hair (even though it became a kinda brownish-dark red hair over the years) and black lashes! I absolutely love those and want to try them out myself. They look so natural and pretty, I'm honestly amazed!
